So President Obama knew about Russia before the Election. Why didn’t he do something about it? Why didn’t he tell our campaign? Because it is all a big hoax, that’s why, and he thought Crooked Hillary was going to win!!!

He knows, he was briefed, his team was breiefed. He has continuously been told before the election that the Russians was interfering but he continuously denies it.

So two huge rants, following a weekend playing golf at one of his courses. Mind you last week (designated jobs week) was disasterous, all the fallout from his treason in Helsinki, his release of Cohens tape backfiring, the reports of how much money he's spent from his 2020 election fund on his current legal fees...

Something big is coming?
Manafort trial this week, so he's in full distract mode (see also Iran rant).

Obama of course did want to tell everyone about the Russian election interference, but McConnell threatened to say he was only saying it to help HRC win, so he backed down. As usual, the exact opposite of Trump's lies.
Not forgetting that Obama shut down two of their diplomatic buildings, threw out 35 diplomats...

You can see what trump wants Kavanaugh as judge. He's now claiming it was wrong for the court to force Nixon to turnover the watergate tapes... Hum, why would that be now...

A war would be a good thing right now for Trump. Impeachment is very unlikely in the event of an ongoing war.

I have noticed that after the recent twitter user purge there seems to be a lot more negative comment appearing in his tweets. There is a lot less of the MAGA rubbish that previously appeared.

I think you are missing my point, either that or I have not argued my case succinctly.
In order to gain the Presidency, Trump has resorted to " dog whistle " politics and in doing so has aligned himself with some extreme right wing bedfellows.
This strategy has allowed extremists to crawl out of the closet as their extreme views are being encouraged and legitimised.
There are moderate nuggets of facts in the statements he makes regarding immigration, crime, unfair trade competition etc. however these facts are much more nuanced than Trump would have it.
Trump and other populist leaders would not have gained power if the political establishment had not ignored and patronised the concerns of a substantial minority of the electorate.
Regarding whether or not Trump has a particular problem with "Blacks" , not a term I particularly like or wish to use as I believe it is ridiculous to characterise people by the colour of their skin, but that's the terminology that modern parlance has agreed on, I know not but some of those that support him have.
I think it would be hard if not impossible to argue that black people have not often taken the brunt of extremist propaganda and violence in the USA over the past 200 years.
Had black people been embraced by their fellow citizens as normal human beings and not been enslaved and treated as a third class, sub human citizens because of the colour of their skins the USA and the World would be a much better place.
Apart from base prejudice I fail to understand how others cannot understand that in any community, tribe or race there will be good and bad people.
Recognise this as a fact, but do not demonise a whole sector of mankind because of that fact.
Good post. My bold; I don't think that there was a way for 'establishment' to acknowledge concerns of that substantial minority. I'd love to read what was it if you think that there was a way for 'establishment' to effectively acknowledge those concerns.

I don't wish to derail the thread (sorry!) and I don't wish to be unwelcoming to newbies (also sorry!) but what's the deal with all these new people signing up and posting strongly political views and not much else? Doesn't anyone else find it a touch suspicious that there's a lot of new members that will just suddenly sign up and start posting a load of pro-Trump/Brexit/populist politics stuff? What gives?

I'm all for free speech and that, it just seems odd that they all seem to fit a certain profile...
I am not new to PH but I don't normally comment on NPE and I don't know if I fit that profile of which you allude.
My commenting on Trump is for a particular reason that concerns me.
Basically it's for the dangerous company he keeps, or has kept and the lack of judgement and decency he shows.
I would describe that company as having extreme right wing tendencies.
He and those bedfellows take a situation be it ,for example, immigration or unemployment and then find a scapegoat which they demonise.
Not only is this grossly unfair to the great majority that are being scapegoated but the divisions in a society it creates and the horror it may unleash are a particular anethma to me.
It is a great pity that he is not a more intelligent man as there are problems in the USA that need addressing but his knee jerk, dog whistle politics are not the way forward.

He's forever making overly exaggerated claims like that, very similar to your typical 3rd world dictator press bullst.
Every one provably false typically without even trying hard.

If this was one of the lads down the pub you'd tell him to stop spouting bs, then sit elsewhere.

Twitter needs to block his account. That would really stymie his ludicrous behaviour.

Come on Twitter - man up and take some action against this erratic clown.

I was talking more about the line that would have to be crossed to achieve CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE.

Only a first strike with 'modern' nuclear weapons could achieve that. Against a country with no possibility of harming the continental USA.

Nah, it's more bluff and bluster.

I hadn't thought that as a possibility, but it would be a good idea. It would be like punching the playground bully right in the mouth.

And if anyone shouted about restricting free speech - that doesn't apply to POTUS. He has multiple outlets through which he can make his public announcements and has massive ability to get his views across - much more than any ordinary bod.

The problem is the nature of the way he uses Twitter. He can still rant and rave about things if he wants to even if Twitter was blocked. But there would be the ability for his advisers and experts to filter what he is trying to say and check what he is saying BEFORE it gets put out. This wild lunatic tweeting is dumb, dreadful, distracting and dangerous.
