Old Elon doesn't take kindly to being rejected, allegedly.

You know exactly what it means. Why pretend otherwise simply to be pedantic about American spelling?

In the US of A, it means exactly the same as 'paedo' does. But you already knew that.

In other news, Musk obviously wasn't held as a child, or perhaps he was ..

It's latin - relating to foot.

I'd say this is worthy of its own thread.

I genuinely didn't actually. I didn't realise that it had a different spelling in the US. I studied Latin at school so understood that Latin based words with the prefix "Pedo" were connected with walking - as shown above.

Shows that an education in the Classics can do more harm than good.

Fine by me if others, and Eric, are ok with that.

Post count, innit.

And I hope Musk is pilloried for this. Exceptionally out of order.

Whatever you may think - it's true. I had no idea the Americans could not spell paedophile properly.

what an utter, total and utter muskrat would appear to be.

The sad thing is that pretty much no matter who the cave-diver manages to get out of this prick it won't hurt him - except maybe if he were compelled to apologise in public, admit he was wrong and a total to boot

Paediatrician - specialising in children's ailments. The 'original' ae is a diphthong, in some case broken down into "a e", and in others reduced to just "e".

This seems to be a case of a casual insult, thrown around in his own company, not realising the enormity of the insult and potential damage when used in the open. Like casual racism / sexism where the perpetrator doesn't even realise that they've been offensive.
