Amazing how rather than just taking the points and fine, which is no big deal in the grand scheme of things, some people decide instead to weave a tangled web of deceit which could render them unemployable or even in jail.

It’s just arrogance. Her and her sibling “got away” with it before, they assumed they would get away with it again. The “driver was from abroad” must surely be the easiest card in the world to play to get out of speeding fines.

Question, can you be found guilty on the balance of probability?

This is an interesting point and one that I agree with 100% - I must say that if Mrs Slaav and I were driving and I (not her) was on (eg) 6 or 9 points and made a mistake and got flashed or similar, it would be tempting to 'swap' the points as I do 95% of our driving and our work/biz/lifestyle would take a massive hit if I lost my licence.

Having said that - I have a clean licence now and would certainly not drive around at 40mph in a 30 if I were on 6+ points with wanton abandon!! Twunts. It doesn't help a thought process (assuming there was one) when Fester the brother is clearly a recidivist....

As a spoof email/FB post sent around recently stated - there is a 100% fool proof way to never get prosecuted successfully for speeding etc etc. Now don't get me wrong; I am no Angel but cruise control set at (eg) 53 in a 50, 80(ish) on a clear M'way and maybe just over 40/42 in a 40 etc etc is a sure fire way to avoid points and the 'necessity' for PCoJ?

Being an MP and qualified Solicitor just makes the whole thing worse. She would even be able to taxi/Uber/cab everywhere and claim them on bl00dy expenses anyway FFS?

Stupid Bint if convicted!

Brother can rot somewhere smelly for as long as the Beak feels fit for all I am concerned.

Just last week a man was jailed for trying to lie his way out of speeding tickets by laying the blame on someone in another country.

Due to the similarities in both cases I wonder if the sentencing will be similar?

Her brother has already pleaded guilty to three counts of perverting the course of justice.

I'm not sure whether the jury in her case will get to know of that fact prior to being asked to come to a decision but if they are informed then I know which verdict my money's on!
I don't know much about legal stuff, so hopefully someone can answer. If her brother's plea is relating to this incident, shouldn't it be made known to the jury, it's the same case after all?

Oh dear, oh dear.

A Labour MP who claims an 'untraceable' Russian man sped in her Nissan Micra had driven alone to a house on the street where the car was caught doing 41mph in a 30mph zone, a court heard today.

Dr Christian DeFeo, who wrote press releases for Peterborough MP Fiona Onasanya, said he felt 'compelled' to appear at the Old Bailey at the 11th hour after reading a court report online this week.

Dr DeFeo told jurors he had a moral duty to contact police and told them the MP had driven to his house, alone, in her Nissan Micra, on the night the speeding ticket was issued.”

Black, check, woman, check, Leftie, check.
No way she is going to pris, they would not dare apply equality in sentencing to such a person. In fact, she'll almost certainly get off scot free with all them cards to play.

Huhne and Pryce got eight months each, and they pleaded guilty. Same offence, but blaming an innocent man, and not admitting guilt should carry a greater sentence...

If found guilty she is going down. No way can she not be given a custodial.

Especially as the Doctor offered her a bed for the night due to the lateness of
the hour. All this for a poxy speeding offence.
