no, its just that, in a race to the bottom, the Tories seem miles ahead.
They haven't seen the need to prepare for a run on the banks, plunging sterling or capital flight, aren't expected to bring overnight economic ruin....................... etc

I'm always left with the impression that Corbyn doesn't really want the top job - the idea of being PM seems tempting to him as a chance to try some ideas out, but his comfort zone is being the opposing voice. We know what he stands against but it gets vague when it comes to exactly he stands for.

His entire career has been on the opposite side of any argument he can find and that's the one place he can't be if he ever became PM.
Superbly worded! That's him in a nutshell!
Please God you’re right Jonesy, from your lips to God’s ears.
I can suffer the mouthy little scarecrow, having an apoplectic fit on the Opposition side of the dispatch box all day long, but the last place that I want to see him, is on the Government front benches, with McDonnell acting as his prompter, whispering snippets from Mao’s Little Red Book.

no, that's right. They don't really prepare properly for anything much, hence the current omnishambles.

Corbyn is the Trojan Horse and the electorate have fallen for it. The power/danger is Mcdonnell.
I think many of us are shuddering at the thought of McDonnel having any power he will be ruthless and so very very damaging.
If you think we are divided now wait until he starts stealing from peoples pockets
I've said a few times on these threads that I don't have a great deal of spare money but what I do have will be leaving the country and will probably converted to USD at the merest sniff of Comrade Corbyn and his chums getting anywhere near power.

And people say "Don't worry, no one is genuinely thick enough to vote them in."

Scary.

You're casting your pearls before swine whoami Old Bean. None so deaf as those who will not hear. The simple fact that every Labour government that has ever been has left office with unemployment up and the economy in tatters. And they were moderates compared with Comrade McDonnell.

I'm not a labour voter, chum, nor a political tribalist. The personal insult is just so typical. hehe

I find it weird if that's the word that we really don't have a strong party that can command the middle ground.

Not surprising really, borrowing is simply offsetting growth in the future.

Not surprising that wages are fairly stagnant now.

2 weeks ago McDonnell was in the city answering questions from a group of fund managers about his economic policy. Asked by a member of the audience if he believed that a particular item would really bestow any economic benefit on the country as a whole he said `Not necessarily, but we are also motivated by revenge. The time for revenge is arriving`

A colleague who was present said he and the other attendees were genuinely shocked & horrified.
That needs wider publicity.
I have to agree. If he said that in front of a few people (and assuming of course it wasn’t said jokingly) then it needs some publiclity.

Serves to illustrate what a total illiterate I am, my first thought was, “are they characters in that steaming pile of ordure, (IMO), “Game of Thrones.?”)
Turns out they’re from “Lord of the Rings”.

Sky news presenter to John McDonnell this morning...words to the effect

'Why won't Labour now trigger a vote of no confidence, surely this is the time to strike'

JM 'We're not in the business of playing party politics at this important time'.

Why would you not expect a WTF comment from Mac Donnell ?, every utterance from him is a jaw dropper.
