It's a 6 year old story now. Nobody felt the need to out him before his big vote for some reason.

Bloke with multiple public sector pensions (6 of them) is now begging for help to pay his legal fees.

“In a lengthy statement posted on Twitter, Salmond said he would reapply to the party if he wins and at the same time launched a crowd-funding appeal to help pay his legal costs – a measure likely to infuriate SNP executives.”

Also wonder if there’s more dirt to come tomorrow?

Edit: and he earns 2k a week for his newspaper columns + there’s the RT job.

The alleged offences occurred 6 years ago, the offences were only reported a few months ago and Eck's publicity campaign was an attempt at getting ahead of it as it appears the investigation had reached the point at which it would have been made public anyway.

I'm organising a fundraiser.
It just feels the right thing to do.

rofl

Get this woman to look after the account (although don't expect to see any of the money afterwards)...

Or maybe this one...

This one will take care of the tax situation for you...

...plus she clearly knows Salmond intimately...

perhaps you could help him out on the emotional front and get diane a to mend his broken heart (and maybe chip in with a £7.53 note for the fund raiser too)

Are you saying that with conviction or through despondency?

Notwithstanding that he held no office within the SNP before he resigned, I think Nigel Farage has a better chance of becoming Scottish FIrst Minister than Salmond has of resurrecting any possible political career.

Nicola Sturgeon's latest statement is worded carefully.....

"Huge sadness about this whole situation", not huge sadness over the announcement of his resignation. She has seen the evidence and she clearly believes the allegations.

Over £75k donated from 3000 or so people. Never underestimate the stupidity of the electorate.

Totally agree. That's the kind of speech you give prior to going to the cells and handing your disgraced best mate his trusty service revolver and a single round of ammunition!

What strikes me as totally baffling are the contents of this line:

However, the hard fact remains that two complaints were received by the Scottish Government that could not be ignored or swept under the carpet".

Why the juddering fk would you include the words in bold? They are unnecessary, adding nothing to the sentence or paragraph and seem to suggest a subconscious unwritten suggestion of - "because we really, really tried as it's SOP for this type of thing but some tt leaked it before we could"

Bearing in mind arrogant Alex has now admitted that he had three meetings with Nicola where he tried to cajole information about the enquiry out of her (in other words try and persuade her to make it go away) I take the bit in bold as a thinly disguised message from Nippy back to her old boss.
