UN climate talks extended due to sticking points in Poland
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-465...
Climate talks in Poland have continued through the night as negotiators try to agree the next steps forward for the Paris climate agreement.
Thousands of delegates worked well past the official deadline for reaching a deal but key sticking points remain.
Rows continue over the issue of paying poorer countries for damage caused by global warming and the use of carbon markets to reduce emissions.
The likelihood of a deal increased on Friday after a new text was released.
The outline decision contains plans for a common rulebook for all countries, with flexibility for poorer nations.
There are also calls for all countries to increase their carbon cutting commitments by 2020.
But many issues are not yet settled, as developing countries seek recognition and compensation for the impact of rising temperatures.
The idea of being legally liable for causing climate change has long been rejected by richer nations, who fear huge bills well into the future......continues
We're all in this together. Until it gets to the MONEY !!!

“We are in a complete agreement that there should be no backsliding on the Paris Agreement”
Derek Hanekom, South African minister and head of the country’s delegation, referring to what the group stand for at COP24.
In October Climate Tracker said:
Only seven countries have made commitments or efforts that would achieve the goal of the Paris accord.
South Africa isn't one of them (see "Highly Insufficient").USA, Brazil, Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan (and China by actions not words)...the major backslider list goes on. Australia had political casualties and now France is on the same path.
The COP 24 "Paris Rule Book" is already a joke. Hot air never was so hot.

Plan for food waste to be separated
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-465...
All households in England may be obliged to collect food waste in a separate caddy under plans to be announced next week.
Ministers are backing the idea, but will offer it for consultation before any changes happen.
The scheme will reduce greenhouse gases from landfill, but could lead to less frequent collections of general household waste......continues
Mine goes on the compost heap
Not sure what the problem is here … we already have a separate caddy for food waste. Well 2 actually a small one for inside and a bigger one kept outside that is put out for the bin men. AFAICS it doesn't mean you cannot use it for compost but just that it cannot go in the normal waste. We still put bird friendly waste food on the feeding station...https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-465...

That’s actually the definition of depravity, (morally corrupt behaviour), dishonesty, deliberately getting people banned etc.
considering the claims made around misrepresentation made in this thread ,that made me laugh. i would call what you posted a stretch, but i don't think the material stretch armstrong was made with would stretch that far (showing my age there) .just because you or i do not agree with a poster being banned does not mean the decision to report the poster, and the subsequent ban by mods was "depraved". if the person doing the reporting genuinely believes there is an issue with the manner of someones posting or content of their posts it is entirely within the forum rules to do so. if the mods deem the issue worthy of a ban that is their prerogative as explained in the rules. i just can't buy that we have depraved posters and mods conspiring to remove agw supporting posters from this thread. that would be a bit tin foil hat, conspiracy theorist style thinking. your not an anti vaccination moon landing hoax type are you

No I don’t think that either. I do think it’s wrong that dickymint got banned and cried about it in feedback to get himself reinstated then went on a reporting campaign to try and get all of us banned.
I certainly think it’s morally wrong for dickymint to get someone banned from the thread and then PistonHeads completely, based on a comments made not to him but to turbobloke though.
He’s got someone banned from the forum over comments that weren’t even made to him.

You might not if you thought it was totally unwarranted.
there is no such thing as totally unwarranted on this forum. i don't own it, i don't help run it either. i only take part in forum discussions and rate some of the articles ph provides on motoring topics. if the mods decided to ban me purely because they don't like me, that is their decision to make.there is nothing i could do about it whether i agree with it or not. wc98 said:

For those without such niceties perhaps not so good.
For those with no gardens of their own, sharing what they think is bird friendly may be difficult. Or perhaps result in being fined for littering.
Do the majority of the population fit into the "minor inconvenience" group or the group that may find things somewhat less convenient?

Excellent, they got an agreement, the world moves ahead.
Some are left behind to rant.
The ranters are the ecomentalists as usual, saying it doesn't go far enough. And it ain't legally binding anyway. Moreover, do you really believe that human beings can 'stop dangerous/catastrophic climate change'? Some are left behind to rant.

It is undoubtably a fact that you got someone banned from the thread and now from the forum over a comment made to turbobloke.
You’ve been trying to get a few of us banned for a while now and it’s transparent and pathetic.
