Leak exposes how The Heartland Institute works to undermine climate science.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/e...

Includes $90,000 given to a certain Mr Watts.

The leak confirms that Heartland is a major source of funding to denier blogs.

Check it out.

Where do they get their funding from?

The reason it’s important is because you deniers only quote wattsupwiththat and gpwf (despite deeps hiding the source and TB plagiarising the articles) and they’re both advocacy blogs.

It’s like presenting evidence of smoking not causing cancer and quoting a blog paid for by the tobacco industry as evidence whilst the other side are quoting the BMA and cancer experts and the vast majority of medical physicians.

The link shows what I've often said i.e. that there's not one route to getting funding. If there's any chance there is sound scientific evidence that we are barking up the wrong the wrong tree and all wasting our money on global warming stuff there's a potential line of individuals, businesses and countries queuing-up to fund the additional research needed to prove it. Because there's more to gain from showing it isn't happening than from showing it is. Far more. But where are they?

Woah there gadge. That's a mighty universe-from-a-grain-of-sand extrapolation jump.
As oft' is the case look at the detail, read the whole article and don't be suckered in by confirmation bias.

The article quotes Watts "Heartland was helping him with $90,000 for a new project".
A new project.
Not his blog.
Or ever before.
Or a regular salary.
One project one payment.

Yes there’s obviously no connection between his blog and the heartland institute. hehe

Woah their yourself Jet_noise.

It was initially a "secret" project? Why a secret?
Watts never revealed this source of income until it leaked.
We only have his word for what it was for.
We also don't know what he's received since.
I never said it was for his blog in particular just that he received it.
That said, it is for work to be published on his blog at some point.

Watts, like Willie Soon, is just another conspiracy theorist for hire albeit one without any climate background (No, a TV weather presenter with zero qualifications is not a climate scientist).

Anyone any idea how TB recruits followers then?
I’m guessing it’s his charismatic posting of irrelevant dogma and doctored graphs and charts?

What was it that made you fall in love with him?
I had CC marked as bks about 10 seconds after I first heard that idiots thought they could manipulate the climate. Didn't need to follow anyone. Only believers have to do that. Hail oh mighty scientists.

Only a complete pillock could equate smoking, a substance with about 500 poisonous chemicals, to CO2, a perfectly natural action essential to life. It makes me shudder every time you post complete nonsense that someone thinks you are mentally fit enough to fly an airplane.

You have an endearingly naive view of altruistic experts and evil corporations.

Medical research is overwhelmingly funded by huge pharmaceutical firms. They are are only interested in cures that come in pill form. Preferably of the "one daily for life" variety.

Oil companies are now oil and gas companies, fully in favour of whatever we are calling Climate Change this week, because it penalises coal, which is otherwise quite cheap.

So which is altruistic and truthful, and thus allowed to fund the scientists you will trust?

Cultured lab meat may make climate change worse

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-472...

Growing meat in the laboratory may do more damage to the climate in the long run than meat from cattle, say scientists.
Researchers are looking for alternatives to traditional meat because farming animals is helping to drive up global temperatures.
However, meat grown in the lab may make matters worse in some circumstances.
Researchers say it depends on how the energy to make the lab meat is produced....................continues

How about a new headline

ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING HUMAN BEINGS DO PRODUCES CO2. THEREFORE (ENTER IDIOTS NAME HERE) RECOMMEND THAT FROM NOW ON, ALL HUMANS LAY VERY STILL IN BED ALL DAY TO MINIMISE THEIR CO2 OUTPUT BY ENGAGING IN ANY FORM OF EMPLOYMENT. FURTHERMORE, ALL SPORTING ACTIVITIES TO BE BANNED.

As for all those Striking for the Climate kids ... I have no time whatsoever for those who bleat on about saving the planet ... Is it that they expect someone `else' to stop doing the things ... don't feel that they should give up anything ... bleat on about climate change ... who still like jetting off to Disneyworld ... want their dwellings heated in winter ... because little Dwayne has discovered he doesn't like chicken nuggets any more. ... F*cking hypocrites.
Thanks for the gammon. biggrin

Well, I think that answers my question: you don't really have a point. You're just generally angry at people you know nothing about based entirely on assumptions you've made with no basis. smile
Just as you seem to be about people that you know nothing about, but who have a different view point to you. No point in arguing about it as neither of us will ever accept each others view on the matter of climate change..

Even in a Liberal democracy the fact that you are allowed a keyboard and an Internet connection is far-far scarier.

As I’ve pointed out, the last time you questioned my mental wellbeing, I’ve had plenty of mental assessments over my career from a variety of people.

I did ask when your last assessment was but you declined to answer.

I’m afraid it’s quite clear there’s no way you’d be assessed fit to operate a lawnmower let alone a large aircraft.

You should definitely get assessed because, you could do with some help.

Apparently the Weather Channel is hyping hyping a study that claims to show ‘climate change’ causes both starvation & obesity. No mention of acne. Gaia certainly moves in mysterious ways.

More snow less snow, cooling is the new warming and tax gas needs viagra,
