In the meantime, I have it in good authority that Bercow is taking up a post in the editorial team at the BBC and will be a figurehead in their forthcoming election coverage.
Shouldn't be allowed. Ministers can't take posts after leaving unless otherwise approved for 6 months (?)He is replacing LBCs JOB, presenting a balanced ,unbiased , view and commentary on the politics of the day

By standing up for parliament and back benchers over the executive, he’s done a great job.
If he’s upset a few here even better.
He even put Francois back in his box today so alls good.
Guess what we will still be in the Eu tomorrow morning.
Evening all. Happy DIAD day, will there be fireworks? If he’s upset a few here even better.

First of all, I would like to apologise to Nick for the drivel I posted yesterday in response to his, about the ineptitude of the voting public. I should have linked my response better.
Secondly, apologies to chrisp for my irreverent leg pull on the question of spelling. Bad form on my part!
I watched this afternoons panto in parliament and was both shocked at the animosity between the 'squeaker' (on his last sitting) and MP's over the Vaz report and the very moving and sincere tributes to the Speakers' Chaplain, Rev Rose Hudson-Wilkin. I must admit to having a tear in my eye when the shadow LOTH made a statement whilst choking back her tears!
For a short while, humanity reigned in the House!

I think sometimes I do get a bit precious but it’s tongue in cheek. I do my fare share of drivel as do most on here from time to time.First of all, I would like to apologise to Nick for the drivel I posted yesterday in response to his, about the ineptitude of the voting public. I hope Vaz gets deselected but that’s up to his constituency. I will not judge on whether he is actually ill or not.
I do hope somebody wins the election though, the novelty has worn off now.
I see a Trump has stuck his oar in as well.
I suppose secret ballots allow for less interference from both sides to pick their preferred person and allow the MP's to get on with the vote without having their leaders harrying them. Though I expect a lot of legal coercion.
For this position, it should be.
Of course I assume that if an MP wants to say who they voted for, that is up to the MP?
