Just give him a watch and tell him to fk off.
A watch? He thinks he's due a spot in the Lords!

I’m not up on all his misdemeanours, in what way has he proved to be not-impartial?
He was shown to not be impartial by the way he refused to be bullied by a small group of far right s.

And this is yet another tragic outcome of the devils work - Brexit

This principled witty and most modest of men has now been obliged to resign for doing what he thinks he knew was best.
I can only hope that he gets a nice presenting job on the BBC or something as he is truly one of the most brilliant people to have entered Mrs Bercow
roflroflrofl He should get an award for Bravery.

Thank fk for that. What a disgrace he’s been.

Since @Reallyreallygood asked:

There are a variety of issues I’ve had with him:
a) sweeping precedent away against the advice of the clerk to allow parliament to seize control of the order book
b) he was one of the more egregious offenders under the expenses regime but has consistently lectured others on misbehaviour
c) as above he has been criticised for bullying and his treatment of the previous clerk of the commons was a scandal in itself
d) it may seem petty but his performance is theatre and bluster (‘perspicacious’, ‘chuntering from a sedentary position’ ‘aaaaawwwwwwweDurrrrrrrrr’ etc which revolves around himself as performer as opposed to ensuring the conduct of the HoC’s business is as orderly as possible.
That’s enough to be getting on with. Good riddance.

Presumably he'll still be an MP after resigning as speaker until the election, which will most likely won't be until November.....

....and the concept of a short-term Government of National Unity is still floating around, but it was difficult to see who had enough broad support in the House to act as interim Prime Minister.

idea

Prime Minister Bercow. It has a ring to it.

If only we could harness the energy of thousands of gallons of PH urine flashing not just into steam, but super-heated plasma, we could heat the country all winter as well.

Just to add to this of course, what's going on now is that MPs are calling Points of Order to kiss his arse, none of these are legitimate Points of Order, yet he's sat there grinning like the tt he is rather than running the House as he should.

If ever there was a moment for someone to point out to them that we can all see what they're doing, now would be it.

One for the Sean Connery thread in 2020

Security at the House of Commons stop a stranger on Monday morning.

"How can we help you?"

"I'd like to see Mr Speaker Bercow"

"That's not possible he resigned last year"

"OK"

Tuesday morning the same thing happens.

"You again?"

"Yes, I'd like to see Mr Speaker Bercow"

"Like I said, that's a non-starter, he resigned last year"

"Righto"

Same thing happens Wednesday and Thursday. Then on Friday...

"Not you again"

"I'd like to see Mr Speaker Bercow"

"I told you four times already, you can't, he resigned months ago, why do you keep coming back?"

"I just like to hear you say it"

I hope Lindsay Hoyle gets the nod. He's about due, and a world away from the current Mr. Bumble.

if an example of the word’s usage has to be that obscure then it’s not a very good word
Not sure it was the right word either. Obsequious Bercow certainly wasn't.

Possibly oppugnant or a redoubtable defender of parliament.

Bercow, fortunately, will shortly wink require no fixing. He'll have fixed it himself.
