People who believe that someone should die because their imaginary friend would be upset: that seems a reasonable definition of lunatics.

“Canada is in discussions with Pakistan about granting asylum to a Pakistani Christian woman recently acquitted of blasphemy, according to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.“

Douglas Murray calling it right.

"Asia Bibi should be able to come to the UK. It is those who would threaten her who should not be here."

Where is he suggesting the 3m or so Muslims in the UK go ?

We can’t have the needs of one foreign blasphemer, put before those of 3m or so British citizens.

No-one is saying that. Those who would harm her is who we don't want. That's not all UK Muslims, nothing like it. And calling her a blasphemer, that's just madness.

Of course it's nowhere near all UK Muslims however a BBC commissioned poll post Charlie Hebdo revealed some worrying stats when it comes what people think about blasphemy in this country and the punishments they think such blasphemers should receive.

Re Asia Bibi her 'crime' and what she was accused of, according to Wilson Chowdhry of the British Pakistani Christian Association (he said this on LBC yesterday), was to say to her neighbours in the middle of an argument 'Jesus died for our sins what did Mohammed ever do for you?'. For many orthodox Muslims questioning the divinity of Mo is blasphemous.

Well Jesus was a fictional character, whilst Mohammed was a kinda and gentle prophet......... So say Alexa, the font of all left wing knowledge (if you have an Echo, go ahead and ask who they were).

It's a bonkers habit of mind isn't it? It's almost as though their beliefs are so obviously unsupported by reality that the only way to defend them is through the threat or act of violence.

BBC being surprisingly neutral with this case, i'd have expected them to have taken sides against the evil Christian woman. I wonder had it been a man, would they even have reported it?

Having to claim asylum because you were accused (and acquitted) of insulting a historical figure who has been dead for hundreds of years. It takes a bit of getting your head around doesn't it?

It's difficult to imagine a more obvious admission that people of faith secretly suspect that their religion is entirely made up when they have to protect it against any sleight with threats of sustained violence.

So, God created the Universe and everything in it but needs protecting against being called names hehe

As nobody seems to make a distinction between abuse and criticism, blasphamy against Islam is pretty much a thing here in the UK too, as it appears to be in Australia following several successful prosecutions. It won't be long before it's integrated into law across the western world.

Boo fking Hoo.

It's our own fault. Had we told them to fk off from day one, they'd not feel empowered to whinge about absolutely everything as they know we'll fold to pander to their made up bks.

Goes for all religions.
