The Senate approved a resolution Thursday to end U.S. support for the Saudi-led war in Yemen, dealing a significant blow to President Trump amid heightened tensions over the death of U.S.-based Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
Senators voted 56-41 on the resolution, which would require the president to withdraw any troops in or “affecting” Yemen within 30 days unless they are fighting al Qaeda.

Meanwhile: The Saudis and Emiratis owe the US $331 million for refueling services related to operations in Yemen that they never paid for, due to 'errors in accounting'

In more bad nws for trump, Wall Street Journal is reporting that Federal prosecutors are investigating whether Trump's 2017 inaugural committee misspent some of the $107,000,000 it raised.
The criminal probe also is examining whether some of the committee's top donors gave money in exchange for access.

The inaugural committee has publicly identified vendors accounting for $61 million of the $103 million it spent, and it hasn’t provided details on those expenses, according to tax filings.
In the FBI's Michael Cohen raids, agents obtained a recorded convo between Cohen and Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, an ex-adviser to Melania, who worked on inaugural events. In the recording, Wolkoff expressed concern about how the inaugural committee was spending money,

NBC are reporting that Donald Trump was the third person in the room in August 2015 when Michael Cohen and National Enquirer publisher David Pecker discussed ways Pecker could help counter negative stories about Trump's relationships with women. Trump was central to the coverup

How many times did he deny knowing anything?
:
Mind you, this morning he was saying n twitter that Cohen: "He was a lawyer and he is supposed to know the law. It is called 'advice of counsel,' and a lawyer has great liability if a mistake is made."
Tonight on Fox news he said Michael Cohen did "very low-level work" that was more PR than law and "he was OK on television."
trump says prosecutors pursued the campaign finance charges against Michael Cohen "to embarrass me" and argues they're not criminal violations.

Butina is outing every NRA & Republican who ever flirted or spoke with her as her mission is over. She can afford to burn them all to get her home. Butina has now formally admitted that when she directly posed Trump the question about sanctions, she was acting on orders from Russian officials. Trump was told to ask her first.

Lawyers agree to hold a status hearing on Feb. 12 to assess her cooperation and set a sentencing date then. Butina will remain imprisoned in her current conditions until then.

When you say he "was told to ask her first" - what do you mean? Was she chosen by someone else or does the point from Trump indicate he chose her at "random"?

Coyft, your thoughts please?
You were vociferous in your denial of there being any evidence of Russian interference.
There isn't a tumbleweed emoji big enough. You were vociferous in your denial of there being any evidence of Russian interference.
Unless Coyft is going to pivot like the others to "I said there is no evidence Trump colluded." As if that somehow makes a fking difference.
...followed by “Well, everybody interferes! Look at Hillary with her uranium mines and her Clinton Foundation “

Can this be true?
Not that he's an idiot but that he's being considered? Does he not have security clearance issues?

P.S
What an opener to that article!
Quick: what do you do when you‘re the president of the United States, you’re about to lose your second chief of staff in less than two years, and no one wants to work for you because you’re an unhinged maniac who can’t be controlled and the best part of people’s days is when you don’t make it into the office?

Trump knew to ask her the question first - it was a setup.
CNN are now saying collusion is a crime, arguing that it's an umbrella term we can use to refer to multiple statutes, including bribery, aiding and abetting, and conspiracy (e.g., conspiracy to defraud the United States or conspiracy to commit computer crimes).

The Washington Post article on trumps changing story about the payments he made/authorised to silence women, he directed the entire hush money operation. Now trump is trying to put all the blame on Cohen - yet we know now there are three witnesses to say he was completely involved, Cohen, Pecker and AMI.
The AMI statement said the payment was "to suppress the woman's story so as to prevent it from influencing the election."
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trumps-lie...
AMI's cooperation with the trump investigation is very bad news for him indeed. They are alleged to have a safe full of stories they buried for him

The Chief Justice of California’s Supreme Court quietly quit the Republican Party. When asked about, she cited Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings.
California Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye has quietly given up her Republican registration and re-registered as a no-party-preference voter, saying Thursday she had become increasingly uncomfortable with the GOP’s direction nationally and in the state.
In a phone interview with CALmatters, Cantil-Sakauye—who was a prosecutor before becoming a judge 28 years ago and California Supreme Court chief justice in 2011—said she made the final decision to change her registration after watching the U.S. Senate confirmation hearings of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
