WSJ reporting Trump Org has sued Cummings and his House Oversight Committee in an attempt to block his subpoena of Trump's financial records.
Elijah Cummings responds: "The president has a long history of trying to use baseless lawsuits to attack his adversaries, but there is simply no valid legal basis to interfere with this duly authorized subpoena from Congress."https://www.politico.com/story/2019/04/22/trump-su...
He's trying stalling tactics

Probably time to stop overly fussing over this from 2016 and start wondering whether the Democrats have anyone who can stop him being re-elected in 2020.
Got to hand it to the man, 6 months after being sworn in I thought he was all washed up. But like the saleman he is, still going strong and looking like he will get a 2nd term. He promised the USA some good times financially and he has delivered ( ignoring someone will eventually have to pay it all back ).
The opposition is playing into his hands as well.
I love the old bastid almost as much as I hate him
You know how when China embraced capitalism it became known as socialism with Chinese characteristics. Are we meant to now talk about Trump as being capitalism with sharia characteristics?Got to hand it to the man, 6 months after being sworn in I thought he was all washed up. The enthusiasm with which the American right wing wishes to head towards every mistake the Arab world has made in recent times astounds me.
Nadler has subpoenaed McGahn

Jerry Nadler: "Mr. McGahn is a critical witness to many of the alleged instances of obstruction of justice ... His testimony will help shed further light on the President's attacks on the rule of law, and his attempts to cover up those actions by lying to the American people"

Tilerson says trump frequently asked him to do illegal things

Afte trump corrected his mistake that 138 million people had been killed in the Sri Lanka attacks, he managed to make further mistakes yesterday.
Trump tweeted that he had spoken with “President Maithripala Sirisena of Sri Lanka” in order to express his condolences and solidarity. Eighteen minutes later Trump tweeted that he had actually spoken with “Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe of Sri Lanka.”
These are the two political rivals in Sri Lanka who hate each other, which just makes it look like trump didn't bother to do any homework.

Here's a good article...

..Trump is less concerned about his role as commander in chief than he is about his own safety and reputation
But we cannot look away from what is now, in the light of day, the undeniable reality that President Trump has no intention of defending this country from the Russians. At every turn, Trump has sided with Russian President Vladimir Putin against his own intelligence and law enforcement professionals. He has accepted Putin’s lies and denials, despite the fact — as we know now — that Russian interference was a fact and that Trump not only knew of it, but presided over a bunch of half-witted, morally compromised and unpatriotic minions who were trying to figure out how to make hay out of the Russian offers of help rather than doing their duty and calling the FBI

When papadopolous further proclaims his innocence...
Rep. Adam Schiff recently told Chris Hayes, “our memo discloses for the first time that the Russians preview to Papadopoulos that they could help with disseminating these stolen emails.” Rep. Schiff added, “When Donald Trump openly called on the Russians to hack Hillary Clinton’s emails, they’d be richly rewarded if they released these to the press, his campaign had already been put on notice that the Russians were prepared to do just that and disseminate these stolen emails.

Of course there will be opposition, I don't remember an American presidential visit that didn't have opposition in some form or another.
But opposing a visit of an American president because he's orange will be a new one. The babies need to learn some respect.

The post of President of the US should be respected. This is hard to do when the incumbent himself doesn't seem to respect that post.
There is no requirement to respect the individual who holds that post.
