Manafort sentencing memorandum not made public yet, deadline for filing was last night.

It is possible prosecutors have sent the document to Judge Amy Berman Jackson under seal with proposed redactions. It is up to Jackson to determine what happens next.

Or it could be it's such a huge document that there's so many reductions to do?

https://edition.cnn.com/2019/02/23/politics/muelle...

Eiher way Manafort is doomed. He gambled on trump who has dropped him, left him in jail, facing more and more charges.
A thought.

Cohen is supposed to be testifying on Wednesday about Trump’s taxes, Trump’s charity fraud, and much more, especially based on the list given of subjects

Surely Mueller and/or the SDNY has to be planning to make something public before then, even if it’s just followup court filings that reveal big things about Trump’s crimes, because these things have to be proven, either then or shortly after.

Cohen has previously lied for trump, so faces that charge from trump that he's an unreliable witness, makes stuff up. Cohen, SDNY, Mueller must have the stuff to back up whatever Cohen says. They delayed his testimony for a reason

Here's a thought. Trump and Pence will be in North Korea next week, leaving Pelosi as the top official in the US, at the same time as Cohen is testifying.

Cohen has met again with prosecutors to give hem even more information about possible irregularities within Trump's family business regarding insurance claims and about a donor to the inaugural committee

Why is Pence going? The man is a piece of furniture but at least furniture has a purpose.

Pence won't be in the room when Kim and Trump actually have their private chats. Is he only going because they don't want him facing the press regarding Cohen's testimony without proper guidance because he's such a berk?

Obviously Trumps team will try and drown out Cohen's testimony by spouting that Trump has just averted WW3 (again!!) or some such bks.
I mean the obvious answer is that if it all hits the fan next week, it's easier to get to russia from there? biggrin
hehe

Very true.

Huge story breaking in Italy. Putin agreed to a request from Lega Nord leader Matteo Salvini to covertly finance his Euro election campaign. The plan was to conceal the payment behind an apparently normal business deal. Sound familiar to trump?

Busy time for this judge, taking Stone down a peg ,now

Judge Amy Berman Jackson has confirmed Mueller's sentencing memo for Manafort was filed under seal on Friday. The prosecutors now must make a redacted version, with exhibits, available on the public docket. They have not yet done so

Hang on, bring out Sarah to defend trump with some nonsense.

After arrest of Coast Guard lieutenant, who allegedly amassed weapons and compiled list of Democratic lawmakers and journalists, Sarah Sanders says Pres. Trump hasn't "at any point" done anything "but condemn violence, against journalists or anyone else."

Did she forget about the time Trump applauded Montana Rep. Greg Gianforte for criminal violence against a journalist. He literally clapped.
Someone pointed out that Sanders stopped doing press briefings right after Mueller interviewed her, probably because of her statements that could be seen as obstruction of justice?

Even now she just cant stop with the lying. Cnn yesterday
“It’s real simple to me. The President far and away was the better candidate. He had a better message and he outworked Hillary Clinton. That’s why he’s President. He didn’t need to, nor did he, collude with the Russians. Pretty simple.”

Which we know is all lies

She was supposed to be leaving, but no one would offer her a job, but looks like she's picked up promoting trump again.

Press Secretary Sarah Sanders: "I certainly don't think that the President at any point has done anything but condemn violence against journalists or anyone else

Oh good grief

Robert Lighthizer had to explain a memo of understanding to Trump in front of Chinese Vice Premier Liu He.

Trump: "They don't mean anything." RL: "It's a legal term. It's a contract."
Trump: "By the way I disagree."

The Vice Premier laughed out loud

Quite an interesting article that says that whilst Muellers report could be smothered by bar, significant details have been shown so far in the indictments Mueller has filed.

https://apnews.com/2b8513d4a4224a559d7048edb396cdf...

We know this because Mueller has spoken loudly, if indirectly, in court — indictment by indictment, guilty plea by guilty plea. In doing so, he tracked an elaborate Russian operation that injected chaos into a U.S. presidential election and tried to help Trump win the White House. He followed a GOP campaign that embraced the Kremlin’s help and championed stolen material to hurt a political foe. And ultimately, he revealed layers of lies, deception, self-enrichment and hubris that followed.

Woven through thousands of court papers, the special counsel has made his public report. This is what it says.

The Manafort sentencing memo is, apparently, 800 pages long.

Can’t see Mueller being anywhere near done on that basis?

So either it's so huge it's taking time to recluse, or it needs the judge to agree what needs to be hidden because outstanding indictments coming, or it's just getting hidden because more is coming.
Let's face it, Mueller hasn't missed a deadline or not produced a blanked out filing yet. Something big is coming, probably before Cohen testifies on Wednesday! Trump will be out the country.

Mueller says Manafort was still laundering money in 2016
Trump was in contact with Manafort for 10 of the 12 months of 2016, a year in which Mueller says Manafort was still laundering money related to pro-Kremlin politicians.

"Manafort chose repeatedly and knowingly to violate the law— whether the laws proscribed garden-variety crimes ... or more esoteric laws that he nevertheless was intimately familiar with ... His criminal actions were bold."

Prosecutors list the people Manafort "lied to" and deceived: FBI, Mueller's Office, grand jury, tax preparers, bookkeepers, banks, Treasury Dept., DOJ National Security Division, his own legal counsel, members of Congress, members of the executive branch. Thats quite a list

"From 2006 until 2015 Manafort led a multi million dollar lobbying campaign in the United States at the direction of Ukraine."
He didn't register as a foreign agent as secrecy was integral to the effectiveness of his lobbying.

Seeing as Putin invaded Ukraine in February 2014, this means Manafort was actively assisting politicians in Ukraine who supported Putin's invasion in 2014, 2015, and into 2016. Manaforts work benefited Putin directly.
Remember Manafort got himself onto trumps campaign as campaign manager for free, no salary.

EXHIBIT 434 shows the Manafort payments extended beyond Putin's invasion of Crimea. Why would Putin need Manafort's pro-Kremlin lobbying after that? He'd got Crimea, unless it was about getting sanctions reduced/removed.

"For over a decade Manafort repeatedly and brazenly violated the law"

He's absolutely screwed.

Congressman Rohrabacher's name appears in headings on 7 separate pages of the proposed Manafort trial exhibits in Attachment G

Prosecutors point out in their conclusion that Manafort's sentences in EDVA (guidelines range 235 to 293 months) and in DC (210 to 262 mos) could run consecutively, and they preserve the right to argue for it.

Over 46 years in prison for someone who is 70. Life sentence
