Bringing a car back from France

I have bought a Uk registered car from France and will Be going to pick it up soon. The car is a Cat C it’s never been registered in France and is still registered in the Uk no export marker but has been out of the country for a few years. There is no V5 but I have applied for it but won’t be back before I collect it. The car is still in a damaged condition and I will be bringing back on a car transporter.
Will I have any issues at the border returning it to the UK?

You should have absolutely no problem, but it would be best to draft a sale agreement for both you and the seller to sign.

I had no problem a few years ago,

The guys at the port just wanted to check inside the towing vehicle (large van) before they let me on the ferry, they didn't ask to see any paperwork.
