The significant change is that May is in for 12 months. She can't be challenged by her MPs for that time. They've effectively strengthened her position.

The only other risk to her is Corbyn, but he won't get the DPU to vote with him so he probably won't try. I can't see tory MPs voting for no confidence in their own government.

She might do a Cameron and run away but she'll do it at a time of her choosing. I can't see it myself, but that's immaterial.

There has been a significant change.
Makes no difference. No one can see further than the end of March. Whether she stays for 12 months or 2 years doesn’t matter.

In order to stop no deal, parliament has to pass legislation to alter the withdrawal act, and then after that either pass a motion in the house to revoke article 50, or pass legislation providing for a new referendum and then ask the EU for an extension.

There is work to be done to avoid no deal.
There is a parliamentary majority to do all those things.

Funny how brexit self harmers are bhing TM having 'ONLY' 2/3rds majority of her party is a weak result yet the brexit vote outcome is quite ok, despite how tiny it was. Double standards!!
Most of her votes were 'the payroll' - MPs who have roles thanks to TM.

Most of the free MPs voted against her.

She's in trouble.
Country is in trouble - she less so tonight. Thankfully she just strengthened her position at the helm in this monster st storm. Bleating JRM should be ashamed of himself - again.

When the books are eventually written it would not surprise me that May indirectly triggered the vote by persuading some to submit their letters in exchange for furthers honours or roles... (yes I am a cynic)

But there must be nothing more surprising to someone holding a gun to your head (JRM) then to pull the trigger yourself and watch him recoil in surprise.

Why hasn't this been widely reported. Despicable from the Tories to garner extra votes.

Quite right. The comments by JRM on the news were appallingly sour grapes.
Youd be forgiven for thinking JRM was the opposition

CS is just overwhelmed with joy.

He can still tell the grand kiddies that he voted for May so she can 'own' Brexit.

He's probably already put in his own request to May for a framed photo with an autograph so the grand kiddies know just who May was wink

Or that the government pay for Facebook ads to persuade people to support the "deal".

meh, 13 months on and no arrest or charge, seems like a reasonable call in the circumstances
