What an appalling analogy. I can shop elsewhere if I don't like Sainsburys. How do I avoid the EU, or even get it to change?

Agree with a lot of that, but I think Farage is wasting his time we will NOT get this opportunity again. People need to look at where the EU is heading and what our net contribution will likely be in 10, 20, 30 years; this is our ONLY chance to escape.
.
May's deal does not offer any "escape" as you put it and the referendum has made clear it doesn't matter what the people vote for if the same politicians are put in charge of implementing it.

ash73 said:
Hard brexiteers must now rally behind May, the longer they hold out the softer Brexit will get until it's finally dead in the water; no deal is not going to happen.
.
Don't care, the bigger the betrayal the bigger the backlash.

You have a vote in elections for MEPs and you can write to them to ask them to address issues are concerned about. You could start your own political party or stand as an MEP yourself if you felt a stronger need to do something.

The other question is not dissimilar to asking 'How do I avoid the UK??'

I'm concerned about how power was transferred from the UK to the EU without the electorate being asked, at any point.

My prediction? Both Labour and Conservative votes will fall apart spectacularly if Brexit is overturned by parliament.
Tory leavers will abandon the tories in droves, they will not turn out or will spoil their ballots. Labour leavers will most likely return to UKIP just as readily as they returned to Labour post referendum. Support for both Conservative and Labour will crash, GE turnout will hit record lows, but the tories will suffer most, finding themselves out of power for a decade or two. Despite the huge drop in support Labour will still walk it as disaffected tory leavers will not lift a finger to stop it such will be their masochistic desire to punish their own.

No Brexit, Tories fked, minimum one, maybe two terms of Corbyn, that's my prediction.

There are not enough roll eyes emojis in the world sometimes. Relating Brexit to the commemoration of war dead is moronic. Shame on you.

You also fundamentally ignores the reason why the EU was created in the first place and why they are sad we want to leave.
To stop Germany dominating Europe?

Don't be ridiculous..they are sad we want to leave for financial reasons and the precedent it could send to other countries who if fortunate enough to be offered a vote would probably come to the same result we did.Its not me being a hypocrite with the war dead ..I feel very sad that what they fought for looks to be totally sacrificed by our political elite now.

Yeah, and they write back to point out that they have no power to propose legislation, but you could write to the unelected Commission instead, though they're not listening.

So we have to live in a political union with 27 other countries because Germany & France are warmongering s? How about Germany & France take some responsibility and stop being warmongering s? Sounds like a ridiculous situation for 26 countries to find themselves in just because 2 countries behave like dicks.

That'll be the extra democracy that a second referendum will provide?

You are deluded and totally incorrect.

You clearly don’t spend any time in the EU.

Yes there is a rise in UKIP style parties but they remain a noisy minority. Dutch and Irish for example are overwhelmingly pro EU. Gert Wilders in The Netherlands barely managed 15% of the vote.

The EU holds together precisely because it was created from a broken continent to stop it happening again. Europeans are acutely aware of their history.

I do spend time in the EU...I have property there which I spend a lot of time at .i also speak to many people there that would cherish a chance for a vote. Most the 'normal' Europeans I know cant understand why the EU wants to punish the UK so much...it highlights their concerns too.
