I have a ford focus 1.8 TDCI, i first noticed problem about a month ago. when i accelerate, mainly 2k revs and above, the car stop acceleration which causes me to shoot forward in the car, it will then gain it’s power back for a split second and back to no power and repeats for several seconds, sometimes it’s really bad sometimes it’s not too bad but only seems to be getting worse. obviously this causes horrible juddering and is especially dangerous when i’m pulling out of a junction. I cant for the life of me think what it could be, my initial thought was something to do with fuel delivery, second thought was maybe glow plugs but im no mechanic and you guys have fixed some of my problems before so here i am.

It’s almost certainly boost control or fuel delivery.

Glow plugs just warm the air/fuel mixture to aid starting.

Does it matter if you are full throttle/part throttle?

I’m praying it not a turbo fault because i know my car will be close to scrap then, from what i recall i’m pretty sure it doesn’t matter if it’s part or full throttle but foot flat to the floor seems to be worse than keeping it half way down
