New party is my guess and at that point I think it may get interesting.

I just think he's a bit of a one trick pony.

If you don't already I'd suggest listen to his show on LBC.

Sometimes he is. But I'm not sure there's much there if he's challenged. To me he'll always find a way to pull it back to "But what about the fisheries" or something where he's on message with his base arguments.

I get it, all politicians like to do that, but I'm not convinced there's much substance there.

It worked for UKIP in 2016, hence the vote to Leave.

The one trick Pony didn't work so well for the Lib-Dems, when their main manifesto pledge and headline act for a second referendum and ambition to remain a member of the EU failed spectacularly in 2017, their other policies were nowhere to be seen in their PPB's.

I can see any alternative party Farage running with in time for another GE doing very well.

Plenty of voters from both Labour and the Tories would have a party with just one aim, to support what they voted for in 2016, something Labour and the Tories are not currently doing despite their respective manifesto's stating the opposite.
I wonder if any Tory/Labour MP's would join the party with Farage?

If nothing else it's a mare for the Tories more so than Labour.
It will split their vote dramatically (arguably more than Labour) if the new Farage party gained any real traction, which is difficult to see not happening.
If you voted for May based on what she promised, Farage's party would now be your only real choice.

I met Mr. Farage once and remember the whole conversation word for word.

I was about to make the point that whilst “gorgeous” George isn’t currently a sitting MP his website claims otherwise - but when I looked, I see it has been suspended.
Which is nice.

Depends I guess if any prep. work has been done/plans in place etc. and I wouldn't be massively surprised.

There's a massive open goal there for someone, there's going to be a huge number of very pissed off voters out there for the taking. Remainers will stick with their current party, Leavers are up for grabs and given the right circumstances could easily defect. Any new party would need some current MPs on board to stand any chance though I would think (although Macron's election wouldn't seem to support that argument), younger MPs probably wouldn't risk it, older ones have less to lose so may possibly be interested.

I think Parliament (and Remainers generally) underestimates the amount of real anger there is in the country at whats going on and neither Labour or the Tories come out with any credit at all.

Leavers obviously won't defect to the Lib Dems but could to a new party if it was seriously put together, well funded and had some credible candidates but probably not lead by Farage, it would need to be someone with a parliamentary track record and someone ex. Conservative and Labour MPs could work with. They would also have to keep well clear of the current version of UKIP.

All a long shot but in no way impossible.

Nigel Farage is a bit marmite, a few like him very, very much. Most do not.
