Nice link. It's just so that some people can divide things up into "right wing good" and "left wing bad".
Is that not exactly what the conflation of racism and liberal economics does, with the boot on the other foot?Randy Winkman said:

It's what Jordan Peterson calls, 'animus possession.' A popular meme is NPC.otolith said:

Would PHers like to tell me if they think that Hitler is primarily remembered for his parties economic policies or because of his fascism, racism, nationalism, war-mongering and persecution of minorities?
It’s genuinely hilarious watching them stumble over themselves to paint Hitler as a liberal leftie and whitewash his systematic extermination of millions. At the same time it’s mildly terrifying when someone tells you to “read a book” because of course Hitler was only doing what everyone else at the time was thinking.
We’re a couple of posts away from HITLER DID NOTHING WRONG.

Of course we could argue that also the British Empire and Slavery never did anything wrong, their systematic extermination of millions just being in line with the zeitgeist at the time. All context, point of view and situationalism, which as none of us was there at the time, we all have to rely on interpretation, fact and allegorical statements.
And they (Hilter, British colonial rulers, slave traders) all had marvellous moustaches so there is a common theme, as also is the theme that in the context of time, when the chips were down, at the end of the day, all things considered, not to rule any future options out, the masses of the time all thought that neither the slavers, the Imperialists, nor HITLER DID NOTHING WRONG.
I'm not an apologist for Hitler by the way, good PR man he was 9/10, moustache 10/10, strategic thinking 7/10, tactitian, 2/10. Donitz, now there was a Furher....if he'd have been in charge from the start we'd all be saurkraut essen und die Frauliens streicheln, tres Grobbe. Free thinking capitalist apparently.
Hitler/Nazi Party was a manifistation of the time. Hitler and the Nazis have little or no direct relevance in today's world other than an inaccurate label applied for effect/shut down or as a bullst description of any legal party.
It is a stupid as accusing someone of being "a little bit Carthaginian"
Right Wing Scum/Left Wing Scum, it all stinks.
