We will see if he is severely punished. They have not charged him yet for this but the most serious is sending the white powder and threatening letter through the post.
If I’ve understood this correctly he used us post service which have their own police and quite high powers.
He’s being charged with a felony 4 which is basically a misdemeanour the white powder would rack that up.

So 2:30am in highly populated downtown Chicago, he’s wandering around to get some food, and just happens to come across two white racists who beat him up (but only a little bit) and yell racial and homophobic slurs at him. They also happened to have with them some rope to make a noose around his neck, and some bleach to pour on him. They were also wearing Trump esque red hats and their parting shot was yelling “This is MAGA Country”, something that Chicago is the polar opposite of.

Oh it’s been a big story over the past 3 weeks here in Chicago and the media have been wking themselves into a frenzy as the story unraveled. The media multiple money shot now is that he’s been charged and appeared in court, and is out on a $100k bail.

The doofus paid those two Nigerians, one of whom was his personal trainer, the other an extra from the TV show Smollett is on. He then wouldn’t turn over phone records to the police. Police tracked the “perps” down via cctv as they caught an Uber to and from the “crime” scene, and they were also captured buying the ski masks, red hats and rope on cctv. They also allegedly found the magazine clippings in their apartment from the “threat” letter that was sent a month or two back. He paid them $3,500 for it all. Supposedly it was because he wanted a pay rise.

The guy is a total tt and an utter disgrace. He’s made a complete fool out of himself and the many many people that jumped on his victim/race publicity bandwagon without questioning what was clearly, from the outset, a totally bullst Swiss cheese story.

Trouble is no one would dare publicly call bullst on him at first as of course they’d immediately be pounced upon and labeled a racist. The whole thing stinks and the backpedaling and “distancing” going on is cringeworthy yet hilarious to watch.

The time wasted investigating something that’s only been done to try and enhance your own profile. I don’t think it does much for those who are genuine victims of racial assault either.

Regardless of court punishment, I’d expect his name to be toxic now and won’t get much high profile work again.

On the contrary - he knew exactly what he was doing. By claiming his "attackers" where white and Trump supporters, his level of victimhood would be boosted beyond measure. You only have to watch how the left-wing media in the US fawned over him after it happened because it fitted into the victim culture that is so pervasive in the US at the moment.
