Why the F are they protesting about HS2? Isn’t public transport a good thing?

It’s good to see that plod has decreed the demonstrations to be illegal, one wonders why this wasn’t done a few weeks ago.
I don't think you get it yet. Tech has been tried and found wanting...CO2 is still climbing.

Time to try something new.

You mean old.

We've been down the non-tech route a few centuries back. That is, what these loons want - the world to be one giant, wattle-and-daub kibbutz.

I must remember that. If you want to smash some toughened glass, use a toffee hammer and blunt posidrive screwdriver yielded with all the force of an angel kissing a puppy's nose.
It beggars belief!

She has a pHD for fks sake, yet couldn't work out that a cursory glance at Google might be a good idea when you don't know what you're doing.

Would getting rid of man-made Co2 stop the planet warming?

Anyway, HS2 is elitist comrade.

You would think that if they were really that committed they would have the discipline to resist trying to hitch their personal hobby horses to the cause.

IANAL but i suspect there needs to be damage to prosecute for criminal damage. IMO it was an act to inspire others to do the dirty work. Onwards comrades! We should use rubber bullets and charge them for the policing operation.

Nor am I but reading a CPS webpage on criminal damage earlier today the 'requirements' are both wider and not as strict as may be thought e.g. smearing mud - possibly a euphemism - on police cell walls has qualified. On that basis those comedy stickers alone would do the trick.

And when it goes to court putting stickers up vs causing x grand of damage... as easy as it is to believe utter incompetence I just don't think we should rule out enough legal knowledge with cowardice aforethought. Now can i please go back to imagining how quick these a55holes could unglue themselves, or not, when the rubber bullets start flying? hehe

Evening Standard says ER will be disrupting the tube on Thursday.
https://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/extinction-...

So I guess TfL will be turning the wifi off for the day then, like they did last time.

The gap between support and opposition for ER has widened since last week according to the YouGovDaily poll result, but only by 2 percentage points.

54% say they oppose their actions, and 36% say they support them, remainder undecided.

Support is declining slowly and opposition is increasing slowly. This may well continue if ER insist on making people's lives a misery while generally doing their best to increase emissions via traffic jams and/or detours, and by disrupting public transport. And that's 'just' with ER affecting London, which has somewhat different politics to other parts of the country.

Top 5 Extinction Rebellion moments.

Whilst it's funny to watch, it is worth considering that further along the drugs supply chain is child abuse and violent crime. Whilst these people are campaigning against Capitalism, rich drug dealers are living it up on the Costa Del Sol.

The only possible explanation for this is the used of psychotropic drugs
