Water cannons should do the trick, if not just shoot the fkers IMHO
I like your thinking, water cannons would give the stinky bds a much deserved wash.
No, no, don't give them a free wash....

Slurry cannon is the way to go.

Oh, the shame of it. My uncle was one of those arrested during the week and interviewed for the Guardian.

In my defence he is an uncle by marriage and actually a nice guy.

At 8 o'clock this morning XR defaced the cenotaph with a climate change wreath and banner... WTF were they thinking? Does anybody still support these nutters. No doubt the police stood by in stark contrast to the weekend.
It is almost as if the police and XR are deliberately insulting every decent person in the country.

Terrible timing. I assume they've not actually damaged the cenotaph though?

Looks like they at least didn't trash it this time or cover in graffiti: https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/extinction-rebe...

Bunch of tossers though.....

The outrage seems a bit misplaced to me. I don't think they should have done it today though.

Which criminal offence have they committed?

No damage done.
The dheads need to find something else to do now as their cause has been overtaken by 'The Great Reset'.
Might I suggest protesting about LGTBQ black and ethnic minority disabled hamsters in outer mongolia.

Which criminal offence have they committed?
I'd start with Breach of the Peace.

Apart from being grossly insensitive, insulting and crass. Given the significance of the Cenotaph to all the war dead playing silly games with it, it is liable to cause distress.
Ergo, I think, but do not know, that the Public Order Act 1986 section 4A might catch it...

From who, any angry crowds there? I cant see that reported, only that it was removed by police after a 2 minute silence.

Offences contrary to the "Being Little aholes Act, 2018", probably.

Clutching at straws there for a PO offence. It's a protest, during which you can annoy and offend and not commit an offence.

I'm actually very interested in, and usually support, environmental issues... but I find actions like this pretty abhorrent, really. I get we are a free country (due in part to those sacrifices that we honour with these memorials) and we have (or did until 2020 biggrin ) a fairly free society, but war commemorations should always remain respected and not used for political or ideological actions like this.

It's odd that they got so close given the supposed 'terror threat' and that there didn't appear to be any police around - they must all be recovering from policing the anti-lockdown protests over the weekend, as there was no shortage of officers for those.

Look again and use the distress part of what I said with respect to the location.

I know what constitutes the offence and whilst this a scummy low life thing to do, it's not a Sec 4A PO offence.

The person who did it has admitted he knew it would cause distress so it seems pretty nailed on.

Or contrary to the "Now you're just taking the piss Act" enacted when I'm King.

Summary offence when a group of solid citizens having been appraised of the details have an immediate response which has moved from the "Now don't push it sonny jim" up to the next level.

It's all rather similar to the FM measure of policing response. namely if the immediate reaction is "fk Me!" there's an offence in there somewhere, you might not know exactly which regulation applies yet, but you'll find one.
