The Duke of Edinburgh was actually one of the first environmentalists, from back in the 1960s when it wasn't really a thing. So XR protesters need to show some respect instead of disrupting his funeral to draw attention to themselves like this.

XR 'protestors' smash windows at HSBC, protesting at HSBC's investing in fossil fuels.

Said windows will need replacing using large amounts of fossil fuels...

Civil action to reclaim the repair costs would be my response.

Bankrupt them as an example.

It's not really about the environment, it's anti Capitalism and anti society. They'll protest for XR one week, BLM the next and succeeded in taking over the Sarah Everard vigil. They hijack a cause they know people will see as noble so if anyone challenges them they can paint those challengers as hating the environment, hating black people or hating women.

SPOT ON!
adding to that list 'protest against HS2'
I recently got to know one of these protestors, she gave up EVERYTHING she owns to go live in a tree and protest against HS2, nothing but lazy layabout hippy with zero contribution to modern society other than virtue signalling.

I don't think they are totally anti society.

They would like nothing more than us all living in a mass commune, weaving our own yogurt and sharing hessian underwear.

They can own it all too. When the common man/woman realizes the cost of this and the subsequent sledgehammering of their living standards they will need to vent their anger and fury somewhere.

The political class will be untouchable, which leaves visible XR supporters as low hanging fruit.

They don't. Like all fantasy's the reality is something quite different, anyone who has served or lived off the land or done bushcrafty things will know just how basic outdoors enviro friendly living is, it's not glam, its not cool, its bloody hard work.

This lot? I'd give a bout 1/2 a day biggrin

Too true. Funnily enough (or not) they’ve got another weekend of direct action planned. This time it’s land ownership and private spaces.

Yay more disruption and cost for hard pressed businesses.
