It’s the punchline to an amusing joke about repeated stupid behaviour

It may also backfire on the left.

You are correct that many people see Trump the way you do.

However if you want to understand the other side of the argument then do as I did and google the women in the "squad", open an article or Youtube video, and go straight to the comments section and read what ordinary people are saying. There is another half of America who sees the "squad" as being up to their eyeballs in idiotic right-on causes and openly playing the "race card", "minority card", "woman card" or "religion card" to deflect all criticism. This half of America don't see them being told to leave the USA if they don't like it as racist, they see it as a long overdue rebuke to people that are abusing their positions and undermining their society.

Something that the left is finding hard to adjust to is that they have seriously devalued the currency of calling anyone a fascist or racist. So many sensible debates on immigration and foreign policy have been shouted down and buried by these accusations that few people actually care anymore as they are all aware of something denounced as fascist or racist that they couldn't see a problem with.

Until the left actually engage with the debates instead of trying to shout them down they won't see off the new wave on the right. They might win the next US election but there'll be another Trump and in Europe we have European Identity, Britain First, EDL, Tommy Robinson, Le Pen, etc.... If the left cannot re-engage with the debates and continue to shout names they risk losing the debates by default.

Then we are somewhat destined to escalation of the polarisation IMO.

Trying to fight labelling with labelling doesn't resolve anything - witness the UK's "you're all anti-semites" "well you're all islamaphobes" tit for tat. It's not getting anyone anywhere.

The individual "sides" need to be significantly more introspective and sort their own houses out. Only by being squeaky can they legitimately go on the attack. If, at that point, they still feel that necessary.

Trouble is, everyone needs to be right smile

By 'abusing their positions and undermining their society' do you mean 'telling s it's not okay to act like s'? Because it looks like it.

If not, in what way are these uppity non-white women abusing their positions and undermining their society? Or is it reasonable to conclude that they aren't doing that at all, they're trying to make it better, and it's actually the people abusing them who are the problem? (BTW please don't tell me to go off and try to find evidence to support your position, it's on you to provide it).

My gut feeling is that pandering to morons isn't the right way forward. The comments you refer to are written by the likes of those who listen to Alex Jones, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh etc. They're not worth second-hand toilet paper.

It's weird, isn't it. Johnson has already polluted one of the great offices of state, so another is just statistics.

He probably won't last long. At least, I can hope. He'll drop some enormous clanger and be unable to bumble it off. Or one or more of the many skeletons in his bulging cupboard will be revealed at a most inconvenient moment, at least for him, and there will be a cascade of condemnation.

He's taking over a minority government. In the past such an arrangement has required tact, diplomacy and intelligence. 'Nuff said, I suppose. The only problem will be that it might end up hurting the country. A small price to pay for getting rid of the idiot?

In a sick way I’m looking forward to Boris. Him not being able to bluster without actually having any responsibility is over. He will actually have to stand by the things he does for more than 7 seconds. I can’t see him liking it at all!

I'm not a big fan of Boris either. However he IS the preferred candidate of the Parliamentary Conservative Party and (seemingly) the rank-and-file members of the CP as well. That does require tact/diplomacy/intelligence.

Trump has been meeting with PM Khan of Pakistan. Khan asked him if he would mediate between India and Pakistan on Kashmir. Trump stated that he'd consider it as India's PM Modri had asked him the same thing. Leading Modri's people to immediately issue a statement flatly denying this - another lie in other words.

India's govt said:
We have seen @POTUS 's remarks to the press that he is ready to mediate, if requested by India & Pakistan, on Kashmir issue. No such request has been made by PM @narendramodi to US President. It has been India's consistent position that all outstanding issues with Pakistan are discussed only bilaterally. Any engagement with Pakistan would require an end to cross border terrorism. The Shimla Agreement & the Lahore Declaration provide the basis to resolve all issues between India & Pakistan bilaterally.
In the same discussions Trump said the following regarding Afghanistan

He's all heart eh.

Ive said it before - that's EXACTLY what his base loves to hear.

They're patriotic to an unbelievably "cringe" level. The slightest possible suggestion that some US policies might be flawed results in accusations of the person hating America and Loving terrorists.

They're batst mental.
