Trump met w/Devin Nunes last week to discuss replacements for Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, in the latest sign that Coats is on his way out. The meeting has top ODNI officials worried that Nunes himself is in the running for the job.

The apple definitely didn’t fall far from the tree, though she has since edited her tweet.

Jesus Christ. How hard can it be to get 'United Kingdom' right?

Yes, just a typo/autocorrect

One of my phones regularly changes "you" to "yiu" for some reason. Doesn't seem to be something worthy of discussion if it is a simple typo.

Are you tweeting to 10's of millions of people and a representative of a major government?

Thankfully not. I'm still unsure why it draws such a response, however. It's a typo, nothing to get worked up about.

I am not even remotely worked up, lord knows there are far worse things from this bunch of clowns, but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect someone in that position to check before sending a tweet out.

Sir Donald, glad to see Sir Boris getting the thumbs up from another middle aged flaxen hair great who likes media.

Going back to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez I still think it was a bad mistake for her not to uproot the bad theory from Donald and played into his hands.
Rolling back, Donald's tweet(s) was dumb as per normal :-

Trump said :-

" So interesting to see 'progressive' Democrat congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful nation on earth, how our government is to be run."

He's not playing any race card here, he is playing the "patriotism" card. If you criticise the USA then you are not a patriot. That has been going on since at least 1917 when people were cajoled into paying for war bonds to support the USA v the Hun. It was wrong then, it is still wrong now 100 years later/

He then finished up with

"Why don't they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime-infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how it is done.""

With this sentence he confirmed that he is playing the patriot v non patriot rather than any race card. It's still dumb though, because most of these people came from the USA. His game plan, as the ultimate salesman, is to beat the other salesman. And the Squad ain't salesmen.

Never go into a bunfight with Donald, it never worked in 2016, and it won't work now. That is why Ocasio-Cortez was silly the other day by just going on the race card rather than the patriotism card.

The background to this story is that the USA has got more left and right wing, like the UK in the 80's, but far worse. Donald, who is not a republican by nature, but a salesman, spotted this gap in the market and is still using it to the most. The US public is money friendly over morals, so the first few years seem to be be giving the promised land ( helping his company too as a by product smile ) but it may well lead to borrowing ruin. It's no wonder he never wants to attack the Iranians, that might have a negative impact on share prices.

The interesting Thing about Donald is that rather than being racist he actually just loves the following-

1. People who like him and do his bidding
2. People who are professional businessmen and do his bidding
3. People who go to war like generals as long as they do his bidding

Rex Tillerson was the epitomisation of 1 and 2 before he decided not to do 1.

Tweet from earlier

"Dumb as a rock"

https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/1131537...

I actually think the last sentence is quite fitting for Trump, "Look how the U.S. is doing!" That was a long time back and is carried on into 2019. My summary of Trump is that is is a one trick pony, he only has the salesman promise of wealth to ease him into the second election no matter what the national deficit. So in summary, people feeling better off financially v a fractured US political system.

The squad are similar to the Freedom party it seems to me, and Donald is using them at this moment as he has constantly to get the upper hand. It is dumb to go against him on the media as rebuff, they just go to the bait and help him out.

Hence why OCA, in my view, played it wrongly.

I think theres a difference between shouting out to someone in the street 'go back to where you came from' because of their looks and saying it to people that seemingly hate the country they are in

I am not sure that an elected official trying to improve their country must, therefore 'hate' it?

What's more, as we saw by the sickening chant at the fuhrer's last rally, the easily led and weak of mind don't need too much encouragement to get dangerously riled up and openly racist.

trump has reached new depths, unlikely as that seems, and is playing a very irresponsible game.

There is. But:
1. They don't hate the country. Far from it. They are trying to reform it for the better. (As opposed to say... actively making it worse...)
2. For 3 out of 4 of them, they CAME FROM THE USA.

Can Aphex give us examples of them saying things that suggest they hate their country?

Regardless, that is Trump's narrative and is popular with his side

Yes but wasn't he levelling that at the Omar girl but broadening it to 'they' so as not to target an individual? That's what I took from it

You seem to have fallen Hook, Line, and Sinker for Trump’s fake narrative.

Firstly Trump pretends that any criticism of HIM is criticism of “America” which means that the non-thinking “Patriots” automatically attack his critics without bothering to understand what the criticism is about.

Secondly, if YOU think YOUR Government has the wrong policies, the wrong principles, is behaving inappropriately, or carrying out acts which it shouldn’t do then, as a citizen of that country you have the absolute RIGHT to point this out. It is not “biting the hand that feeds you” and criticising Government Policy isn’t anything like criticising your “Country”.

To try and put it into a UK context - if Corbyn suddenly decides that everybody’s arning over £40k should be taxed at 99%, or that we subcontract MI5 and MI6 to the KGB, or that we contract the facilities management service at Aldermaston to the Chinese Govt, it would be our duty to fight against this, even if Corbyn called us “Unpatriotic” or “Traitors”
