Two more people associated with the National Rifle Association have resigned.

Country music singer and NRA board member Craig Morgan.

David Lehman, the deputy executive director and general counsel at the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action, is leaving the organization.

Perhaps the NRA won't have all that russian money to pump into trumps campaign. Mind you he's been raising campaign funds since the day he was elected.

Actually, I have acknowledged trumplethinskin's re-election is a potential outcome. I added that it's mind-boggling that it is a possibility.

Which it is.

The ratings for Trump's White House reality TV show are slipping. He's trying to juice them through emotional outbursts, saying divisive and outrageous things. But as with any annoying, one-note drama queen, the viewing public is tired of it and ready for a new program. #BuhBye

Trump has again been lying about his business worth. Remember he has done this consistently before, inflating values to get loans, deflating values to pay less taxes.

In this case it's his loss making Scottish golf courses.

Trump cancels his visit to Denmark in a huff, because they won't sell him (the great real estate mogul) Greenland:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-4941674...

"The president was scheduled to visit on 2 September, at the invitation of Denmark's Queen Margrethe II."

..and..

"Danish PM Mette Frederiksen described the suggestion as "absurd" and said she hoped Mr Trump was not being serious."

..was followed by this from Trump..

"but based on Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen's comments, that she would have no interest in discussing the purchase of Greenland, I will be postponing our meeting scheduled in two weeks for another time..."

So basically invited by head of state, raises stupid idea, gets completely called on stupid idea, cancels state visit in a huff, demonstrates to world that there is no childish level to which he will not sink.

Trump threw a hissy fit when she called his idea absurd, yet he was the one who posted below...

He is a master of diplomacy, at least Denmark escapes the cost of the Presidential baby visit.

If only he'd wanted to buy the Isle of Dogs we'd have been spared him.

Does he honestly think that his non attendance is a punishment for the people of Denmark? rofl

trump also said yesterday “Any Jewish people that vote for a Democrat – I think it shows either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty.”

Halie Soifer, executive director of the Jewish Democratic Council of America, called the comments "yet another example of Donald Trump continuing to weaponize and politicize anti-Semitism."

trumps been pushing again for Russia to be allowed back into the G7

a trump admin official said that Macron agreed following phone conversations with trump...
https://edition.cnn.com/2019/08/20/politics/donald...

Now is this Macron playing trump? Some White House officials believe that this is a ploy by Macron to embarrass Trump into putting himself on the line publicly and pushing for Russia to be allowed back in

His Links course is not worth much. He overpaid massively for Turnberry.

There is no market for the Balmedie - none of the multiple operators will touch it, the US golf operators find it laughable and the course is good but nothing special.

Half the time it's covered in seafog, or dreich, or both. So, has an operating window of about 6 months max.

The UK golf market is flat, and whilst some operators have diversified and done well they have done so with major populations on their doorstep, or, they are internationally recognised destinations in their own right.

think about it, you land at a Scottish airport, where do you head? Some soggy mess in the arse end of nowhere, with nothing around it or Gleneagles, picking up Carnoustie and Muirfield on the way, or pick up the Ayrshire classics.

More likely that Macron said something more diplomatic than FRO and Trump heard "yes".

trump said that Moscow’s exclusion since 2014 from the group of leading economic powers should be reversed and, ignoring Russia’s aggression in Ukraine, contended that the true reason for it was President Barack Obama’s wounded pride.

“I guess President Obama, because Putin outsmarted him, President Obama thought it wasn’t a good thing to have Russia in,” Mr. Trump said. “So he wanted Russia out.”

“Well, that’s not the way it really should work,” he added.

He basically didn't listen to Macron.

That was in contrast to the view of France’s president, Emmanuel Macron, who a day earlier told a visiting Mr. Putin that Russia could rejoin the elite gathering if it helped end the continuing conflict in Ukraine. Moscow has supported a bloody rebellion by pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine that the United Nations estimates has claimed more than 13,000 lives since it began five years ago.

Senility or just having a laugh knowing that his days are numbered. He was never a politician so doesn’t need to worry about his post-presidential life. He has a few pennies (allegedly) so doesn’t need the money. All a big game to stroke his ego.

Just had to research this as I had thought at first it must be a joke.

This is just the kind of thing I am referring to when I say that the mere possibility of trump being re-elected is mind-boggling. This is really beyond parody, and we are in full 'Twilight Zone'.

The lack of self awareness of how their actions are viewed globally, not just by Trump, but the entire administration, is mind boggling.

Are there no good advisors/diplomats in this government or are they simply shouted down by the man child who always knows best?

No-one want to challenge trump as he just attacks them, often publicly. He's also had so many people leave his administration that he's now surrounded himself with yes men.

This is utterly bizarre, even by Trump’s standards. I thought he liked a bit of pomp and state visits.

The reason he may well get re-elected is the same as the reason the Conservatives are likely to win the next election. Not because they are good, but because the opposition is in utter disarray.

So yesterday trump
- reversed what he said on background checks under pressure from NRA lobbying
- pushed to get Russia back into the G-7, ignoring the whole Ukraine issue and blamed it on Obama
- said the economy is strong and argued for measures to fix the economy, whilst planning to cut the pay of all federal employees
- called 7 in 10 Jews either disloyal or dumb and upset the Jewish community
- fought on Twitter with a temporary employee
- had a hissy fit with a Nato ally
- was revealed to be fiddling his assets value again

well, I guess you've got to do something in between rounds of golf...
