I think (in a very obtuse and poorly worded way) he's having a dig at the age of some of the republican old guard who don't support him.

As if he's a spring chicken FFS!

Maybe his staff tell him he's in his 50's every day... Wouldn't surprise me.

(I'm not pro Trump but have a lot of US colleagues. The Republicans despair but won't vote Democrat. The Democrats despair at the age and/or low quality of the candidates). They need a "hope" candidate a la Obama and don't have it.

Sorry, my mistake.
Just looked at the official White House map as I’d forgotten where Colorado was. I thought it was further north but I was obviously wrong.

I’d read it as there is only a very few republicans who are left against him, and are on life support (respirators) barely struggling to keep going.

Even if there was a hope candidate it might not help. There’s been decades of the message that everyone is doing well, woo for globalisation etc. Yet huge numbers of the lower end of the population in the west have had no pay rise in real terms. They maybe worked in a factory at $15/hr, but that got cut and so moved to a call centre at $12, then those jobs get moved to India and so they work at Walmart for $9 instead. Then the top end has had huge wealth increase, basically being bailed out by the people at the bottom (governments bailing out banks - i.e. saving the wealth of the rich, paid by the public). All the time while the message has been that everything is good/world is doing well. Hence moderate candidates being ignored now in many countries, and the middle ground being abandoned. Will Trump help? Probably not, but it’s a different message. In addition the trade war may be bad for the global economy, but it likely works for getting jobs to US. They have a big enough economy to go on, and companies will move back if it is cheaper due to tariffs to import. Like China - the market is so big companies move there despite knowing their data/ IP will be stolen.

Crashed the meeting with trumps blessing

A group of Republicans disrupted a hearing of the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry Wednesday by storming into a secure room at the Capitol in a protest carried out with the blessing of President Donald Trump.

The two dozen or so GOP House members are among some of Trump’s staunchest defenders in Congress, and at least some of them met with the president Tuesday where they outlined a plan to crash the hearing, according to several people familiar with the matter. Trump supported the action, saying he wanted the transcripts of the hearings released because they will exonerate him, the people said.

Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., who has participated in the depositions as a member of the Oversight committee, said Wednesday that the Republicans who stormed the secure room are “obviously” in violation of House rules.

“But it seems like this was a strategy cooked up at the White House to distract everybody from the explosive and devastating testimony we got yesterday from Bill Taylor,” the top U.S. diplomat in Ukraine, Raskin continued, adding that this was “informed speculation” on his part.

“Obviously they’re just trying to shut it down,” he said. “They don’t like what’s coming out of it. Ambassador Bill Taylor just destroyed the last vestiges of their defense, and if they had something to say, they would be talking about the substance of it. Instead, they’re essentially railing against the committee system in Congress.”

Giuliani has worked out how much trouble he's in, is now trying to change his tune

Rudy Giuliani
@RudyGiuliani

With all the Fake News let me make it clear that everything I did was to discover evidence to defend my client against false charges.Dems would be horrified by the attacks on me, if my client was a terrorist. But they don’t believe @realDonaldTrump has rights. Justice will prevail

Propublica have pointed out the many times that Giuliani flip flops between acting as trumps lawyer, as a private citizen, as trumps lawyer...

When the House impeachment inquiry gave Giuliani his supoena, he wasn't happy and claimed the subpoena which seeks “all documents and communications” about Giuliani’s repeated forays into the world of Ukrainian law enforcement and politics, raises “constitutional and legal issues” including “attorney client and other privileges.

Take a recent conversation Giuliani had with a reporter for The Atlantic about his attempts to enlist officials in Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital, to investigate matters that could benefit the president politically. “I’m not acting as a lawyer,” he told the reporter. “I’m acting as someone who has devoted most of his life to straightening out government.”

We also know from all the testimony so far that Giuliani was deep at the centre of trumps Ukraine scandal, his duty of loyalty was 100% to his personal client, trump, that trump told Ukraine via intermediaries that it had to involve Giuliani, that it involved a quid pro quo of releasing aid and other favours such as White House meetings with trump, all designed to advance Trump's personal interests.

CNN have a more detailed report on Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman

https://edition.cnn.com/2019/10/23/politics/parnas...

The pair raked in hundreds of thousands of dollars and jetted around the world touting their connections to Giuliani and the Trump administration while pushing for business and favors, even claiming to arrange a Fox News interview, right up until the day they were arrested for conspiracy and campaign-finance related charges.

When the pair made a $325,000 donation to a pro-Trump super PAC in May 2018, they were subjected to standard vetting designed to detect any problems or conflicts with major donors, the source said.
"They didn't find any reason why we shouldn't take their money," said the Republican with knowledge of the matter. "So we did."

Also
Two weeks ago when they were arrested, Parnas and Fruman were preparing to fly to Vienna, Austria, to meet Giuliani and another key figure in the impeachment investigation, Ukraine's former prosecutor general Viktor Shokin, according to four sources familiar with their trip. Shokin is the same Ukrainian official who former Vice President Joe Biden -- along with other Western leaders -- had pushed to have removed over concerns he wasn't prosecuting corruption.

While questions in Washington swirl around Shokin's role in this controversy, Giuliani, Parnas, Fruman had specific plans for the former Ukrainian official up until the day of their arrest. According to those four sources, they told others they were headed to Vienna to help with a planned interview the next day: Shokin, they said, was scheduled to do an interview from the Austrian capital with Sean Hannity.

Hannity again. Pushing trumps illegal plans

When trump made a side trip to his Irish golf club this summer, dozens of Irish cops were sent to protect him. Then Trump’s company charged the cops more than $100K for food and coffee.

and theres a copy of the bill

Love this comment:
Many people are saying it. One big rough & tough biker told me, "Sir, I've never seen a bill so perfect. That's a strong beautiful bill! What's the problem?" And he had tears in his eyes. This big tough biker had tears in his eyes.

Of course trump campaign won't pay their bills to police or cities
https://publicintegrity.org/federal-politics/donal...

In all, 10 city governments — from Spokane, Washington, to Erie, Pennsylvania — say that Trump’s campaign owes them a combined $841,219, the Center for Public Integrity reported in June.

El Paso, Texas, alone wants Trump to pay $470,417 stemming from a rally in February — now more than $569,000 after the city hit Trump’s campaign with a late fee.

Republicans conducted hours and hours of cclosed-door interviews during the Benghazi investigation. They explained the secrecy as a way to ensure “more efficient and effective” interviews. They said so here on p. 360 of their report.

It's beyond pathetic. Doubling down with another ridiculous lie over something so trivial.

This is a perfect microcosm of the man and his administration.

Yeah - fk the guy trying to bring in healthcare for the uninsured, let's vote for the billionaire who refuses to show us his taxes.
That'll "own the libs". rolleyes

Perhaps I bought your argument in November 2016 when the "anti-establishment" vote had some sort of rationale.
But to remain a Trump supporter, while being on minimum wage and seeing:
- Tax breaks for the rich.
- Massive deficit escalation.
- Pay for play.
- Disastrous trade war making things more expensive for you (inflation is a hugely regressive tax).
- Corruption, corruption everywhere.
- Breakdown in basic democracy with precisely zero oversight.

Then either you are voting against your self-interest because you are a stubborn moron who can't accept you made a mistake...
OR you are one or more of all the other disgusting things Trump has proved himself to be:
- Racist.
- Misogynist.
- Liar.
- Narcissist.
- Nepotist.
- Swamp supporter.
- Corrupt.
- Selfish orange .

Pretty sure Trump lives by that lovely phrase "You are only as old as the women you feel"

Therefore is probably just about to hit puberty if the Epstein stuff is to be believed! Would also explain the way he tweets...
