I only briefly caught this on CNN this morning, but those laughable notes that trump showed, were apparently what he made during the call months ago. But "Quid Pro Quo" wasn't a phrase used until at least a few weeks after the call....just a coincidence?

I didn’t have Trump down as a Latin scholar. Then again he’s probably very familiar with other commonly used Latin words like alibi and ego.

Being dishonest must be bad for ageing. I discovered yesterday that Nunes is a month younger than I am.

Speaking of Nunes, when I watched the hearing yesterday I caught his opening statement. What a load of unrelated waffle and bks that was. What was the point.

LOL - trump takes credit for an Apple plant that Obama opened in 2013 and has been making Mac Pro's there since...

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

Today I opened a major Apple Manufacturing plant in Texas that will bring high paying jobs back to America. Today Nancy Pelosi closed Congress because she doesn’t care about American Workers!

He has said the same thing for all of the hearings. Never changes the content, just words it differently.

Corey Lewandowski on Radio 4 just now repeating the Rep mantra that if you haven't actually met or spoken with Trump then whatever you say has no weight. Quite a few people didn't meet Hitler, Mussolini or Mugabe but that didn't prevent any of them being found guilty of shocking crimes. Amazed the BBC guy didn't pick him up on that.
My concern is that with respect to Trump we are in a place where normal cast-iron evidence still isn't enough because he's such and amazing genius that some people with do anything to knock him off his perch. Pure envy and all that.
The trouble is Sondland blew that out the water yesterday, said he had many meetings with trump, was following trumps orders, was directly involved...

Many people have now validated the whistleblowers complaint, both in private and public testimony, including Sondland who was directly involved...
Good. smile

Team Trump is making a big deal about Sondland saying "Trump said 'I want nothing, no quid pro quo'".
3.27 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOHd_2dqOW4
So... Team Trump want everyone to focus on those exact words from Trump to Sondland...
...and ignore the rather obvious fact that people are capable of saying one thing while thinking, believing and acting the opposite.

Apparently it's "Game over for the Dems" because Trump wanted to say he wasn't doing a crime... WHILE DOING A CRIME.
Also known as "lying", something we know the Best President in the Universe never does.

Whilst this sounds bitter, what I'm hoping is that the State Authorities where he is based will go through his books with a fine toothcomb. he can't get a "Pardon in Advance" and I think that will hurt him more than anything else.

If you can be bothered, it IS worth popping on to Trump's Twitter feed (I follow him for a laugh) and just count/look/laugh at the number of retweets he is sending of people saying 'no quid pro quo' and going on and on about the various witnesses saying 'no crimes' and 'no pressure' etc etc.

He is (as are all of his rabid MAGA crew) capable of twisting absolutely everything to his narrative and to be honest, despite what I think of him and this impeachment process, reading his twitter feed makes me think he is innocent or at least, charges not proven?!?!?

And I really cant stand the odious prick! (for the avoidance of doubt wink)

He is comically, almost impossibly clearly guilty. It's just a pantomime.

He will be innocent in his own mind because at the time (and probably for a long time after) he didn't realise that what he was doing was a crime.

Ignorance of the law and all that. but he's so bloody stupid he doesn't listen to people that advice him against doing what he wants to do.

he's sacked so many 'allies' and thrown so many people out he's now getting payback for thinking he's so bloody clever.

Just for the avoidance of doubt.... 'if you had just crawled out from under a rock and read his twitter feed' you would think him innocent wink

The guy is Teflon personified and an arrogant, (alleged) criminal and odious prick in my opinion. I am sure he wouldn't be fond of me either to be fair!

Hope that clears it up?

The Tangerine toddler's presidency seems very "Animal Farm" (The Orwell book, not any other films of a similar title.)

To be in American politics you need (amongst many other things) very thick skin but I can’t imagine how horrid it must be to be either Congressman Schiff or Nunes sitting day by day so close to the other. In a former life I worked in the Palace of Westminster and behind the bluster there are plenty of politicos who rub along fine and plenty who rub each other up the wrong way. It isn’t obvious these two are great beer buddies. They must despise each other!

Just another reason among so very many why I’m totally unsuited to being a US Congressman.

Anyway, heads up!.

You've found a Trump devotee on Twitter.

What's the point you are attempting to make?

That's one of the dumbest things ever posted here.

Against some pretty stiff competition, too.
