The Department of Energy has released a new batch of documents related to its former Secretary Rick Perry and Ukraine. The release totals more than 100 pages. The documents includes Perry's briefing book in advance of his May trip, to meet with Ukrainian President Zelensky.

The records include schedules, talking points, and background materials prepared for former Energy Secretary Rick Perry’s briefing book for the May 2019 delegation he led to the inauguration of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Perry, along with Ambassador to the EU Gordon Sondland and former Special Envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker, was one of the “three amigos” tasked by the White House to run the irregular foreign-policy channel in Ukraine centered on getting the country to announce an investigation of Joe Biden.

Absent from the documents is the list of recommended energy advisers that Perry reportedly passed to Zelensky during one of their meetings, as well as any email communications regarding the White House meeting that Perry attended with the rest of the “three amigos” immediately upon his return to Washington.

Docs are here:

Perry advocated for Gazprom the a Russian gas company. It is building Nord Stream 2, a major gas pipeline to Germany that threatens European energy freedom and is a threat to Ukraines economy

It's not even the same woman! That makes it even more pathetic... Persecuting another woman because they've got the hump with a different one.

I'm sure that will go down well with the press pack.
The White House Correspondents’ Association says the State Department’s “apparent attempt to take punitive action against” NPR “is outrageous and contrary to American values.” Calls on them to reverse “ill-conceived” decision to remove reporter from Pompeo’s trip.

New Quinnipiac poll:

53% say Trump is not telling the truth about his Ukraine actions.

57% say they'd like Trump to provide more details about Ukraine.

54% believe Trump abused his power regarding Ukraine.

52% think Trump obstructed Congress regarding its investigation
I'm amazed the numbers are so low!

What an intriguing and yet pointless post.
Care to expand on this particular bit of fluff?

I just find it amusing that the generally jingoistic, chest-beating, anti-immigration alt-right types who frequent N,P & E find time to criticise Donald Trump.
Most of you recently voted for our very own Tump Lite.
There are a fair few hypocrites on here it seems to me.

Oh come off it. rolleyes
Look at any thread relating to immigration, Islam, the casual misogyny in relationship threads...
Half the posts could be mistaken for Trump tweets.

Are you suggestion PH N,P&E is a forum filled with progressive, moderate thinking liberals?
FFS! Most on here think the current Tory party are pandering too much to the centre.

Examples from this specific thread?
Rather than generalising everyone in the N,P&E section.

I think this thread is more the exception to what you say above.

Frankly if your value system aligns with Trump’s then you need to take a long look at yourself.

There ARE lots of people like that. However (IME) they’re in a minority. And, apart rom the odd random post before bu88ering off again, they’re generally absent from this thread. Trump is very hard to defend, even if you’re 99% moron.

speakign of the donald

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

For a guy who couldn’t get approved for the Ambassador to the U.N. years ago, couldn’t get approved for anything since, “begged” me for a non Senate approved job, which I gave him despite many saying “Don’t do it, sir,” takes the job, mistakenly says “Libyan Model” on T.V., and..

....many more mistakes of judgement, gets fired because frankly, if I listened to him, we would be in World War Six by now, and goes out and IMMEDIATELY writes a nasty & untrue book. All Classified National Security. Who would do this?

So it's all untrue donald then you won't mind if it's presented as evidence - no need to classify it...

Remember when trump wanted to invite the Taliban to Camp David and Bolton stopped him?

Is this writing of this book like you waiting until Biden ran for president before you decided to investigate him for 'corruption'

I believe people can do their jobs without undermining elected politicians, it’s just that Comey is not one of them and neither is Bolton and they were both quite rightly removed from their roles. This would apply whomever the Voters return back including Biden, if he wins the election.

Trump is so lacking in self awareness it's laughable. In this tweet, he says:
- Bolton was a washed up hack
- but I gave in to his begging and hired him
- against advice
- as National Security Advisor, no less!
- a role in which he was terrible and dangerous
- but I kept him there for 17 months.

So on Trump's admission he hired someone he knew to be incompetent, against advice, and kept him one of the most senior and responsible positions in the Govt for 17 months even though Bolton was terrible at his job.

And who comes out of this tweet worst, exactly?

Mmm, it seems there may be a pattern forming around trump, over the last 3 years of his ‘presidency’ and for the 70-odd years before that:

1. he is thoroughly untrustworthy
2. he rarely, if ever, tells the truth.
3. he only ever acts in his own interests.
4. he is a total cockwomble and massive .

They aren't undermining elected politicians (although I suspect for you this just means team trump), they are providing their version of events they were party to.
We have trump frequently giving his version of events, which is often proven to be untrue. We have trump frequently undermining elected officials.

Trump often criticises people as entirely incompetent and untrustworthy that he once entrusted with very powerful positions, such as national security adviser, Secretary of State, attorney general, ambassador...

It’s incredible how many “bad people” ttrump says he has hired when he claimed he has only the best people... Michael Cohen, Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort, Jim Mattis, John Kelly, John Bolton, Jeff Sessions, Scott Pruitt, Omarosa, Tom Price, the Mooch, and on on

In trumps case, Just because you've been elected to a position doesn't mean you are imune to the law, which is what you are frequently suggesting.
