Gahn has been told by the judge that he can hold stuff back at the inquiry so it all seems a bit pointless.

It was never about McGahn recently (although thats how it started) - he's up to his neck in it. This was about Bolton

...a handful of the Pentagon's highest-ranking officials have been debating just when they would feel compelled to resign over what they see as Trump's disregard for the chain of command.

"There's a sense of dejection by senior leaders in the Pentagon, that the president and the secretary of defense are going to side with the loudmouths at Fox News against the reasoned opposition of senior military professionals," said another Pentagon official with direct knowledge of high-level discussions. "That's the sense in a nutshell."

In the mid 1930s, Stalin had all his top military people murdered.

Trump just makes them so fed up, they resign in frustration.

In her first official act as Oversight Chair, Rep. Carolyn Maloney filed a federal lawsuit today on behalf of the Committee against A.G. Barr and Commerce Secretaryy Ross for refusing to produce docs regarding the Admin's effort to add a citizenship question to the 2020 Census.

Maloney: "I am filing this enforcement action today because the Trump Administration's brazen obstruction of Congress must not stand. President Trump and his aides are not above the law. They cannot be allowed to disregard and degrade the authority of Congress."

https://www.politico.com/story/2019/07/17/house-vo...

The House voted on Wednesday to ask the Justice Department to prosecute Attorney General William Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross for defying congressional subpoenas, an escalation in House Democrats’ ongoing oversight battle with the Trump administration.

The 230-198 vote to hold Barr and Ross in criminal contempt of Congress is largely symbolic, as President Donald Trump’s DOJ (Barr) will not act on the request.

Parnas has provided thousands of pages to the house intelligence committee and according to two of his lawyers, Joseph Bondy and Ed MacMahon, Rep. Devin Nunes (R.-Ca) and his top aide, Derek Harvey, have allegedly been working in part with Rudy Giuliani and his associates, including indicted businessman Lev Parnas, to get dirt from Ukraine on Joe Biden and to pursue other discredited conspiracy theories that would benefit President Donald Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign.

Giuliani's trips have been getting investigated

During a trip to Madrid in August, President Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, reportedly stayed in a historic estate belonging to Venezuelan energy executive Alejandro Betancourt López, The Washington Post reports. Giuliani had been hired by López for help after the Justice Department opened an investigation into a $1.2 billion money-laundering case against him. At the time, Giuliani was in the region to meet with a top aide to Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky in a scheme to investigate President Trump’s political rivals.

One month later, Giuliani “met with the chief of the Justice Department’s criminal division and other government attorneys” to argue that López should not face criminal charges.

The criminal complaint alleges that top officials of the Venezuelan state-owned oil company, elite business leaders and bankers conspired to steal money from the company and then launder it through Miami real estate purchases and other investment schemes.

it shows how Giuliani whilst serving as Trump’s attorney has used his work for paying clients to help underwrite his efforts to find political ammunition in Ukraine to benefit the president.

He probably thinks the word "Centennial" is to do with those little brown coins, 100 of which make a Dollar.

The man is a total ignoramus.

Ignoring all testimony last week, Pompeo just backed up Trump's request for Ukraine to investigate the discredited Ukraine DNC server conspiracy: "Anytime there is information that indicates that any country has messed with American elections we not only have a right but a duty to make sure we chase that down"

Pompeo: "I served as the CIA director for the first year and a half of this administration, I can assure you there were many countries that were actively engaged in trying to undermine American democracy, our rule of law, the fundamental understandings we have here."

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/mike-pompeo-secretary...

You'd have thought that as CIA director he might then listen to the US intelligence community when they say that the Ukraine-did-it story was concocted and peddled by Russia.

Giuliani is now toast - trump is denying having anything to do with Ukraine and blaming him, bit late now after Sondland's testimony.

Donald Trump denied directing Rudy Giuliani to go to Ukraine to look for dirt on his political rivals, in an interview with former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly.

“No, I didn’t direct him, but he is a warrior, he is a warrior,” Trump told O’Reilly in an interview streamed on the internet on Tuesday.

Asked by O’Reilly what Giuliani was doing in Ukraine, Trump said “you have to ask that to Rudy.”

“Rudy has other clients, other than me,” the president added. “He’s done a lot of work in Ukraine over the years.”

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-11-26...

yet only on the 6th Nov Giuliani was saying:
Rudy Giuliani
@RudyGiuliani
The investigation I conducted concerning 2016 Ukrainian collusion and corruption, was done solely as a defense attorney to defend my client against false charges, that kept changing as one after another were disproven.

On trumps own summary of the Zelensky phone call, trump told Zelensky: "Mr. Giuliani is a highly respected man ... I would like him to call you."

The House Intelligence Committee has just released the depositions of Deputy Associate Director for National Security Programs at OMB Mark Sandy and Acting Asst. Sec'y of State for European & Eurasian Affairs Philip Reeker.

Reeker: https://intelligence.house.gov/uploadedfiles/reeke...
Sandy: https://intelligence.house.gov/uploadedfiles/sandy...

Sandy warned his OMB boss Michael Duffey that he thought holding up the Ukraine aid was illegal. That puts Duffy in the firing line, so he may dump that on Mulvaney, who is still the OMB Director.

Reeker has testified that his best understanding was that Mulvaney was the one behind holding up the Ukraine aid. Mulvaney already confessed they did this, and he considered it normal process (quid pro quo or bribery).

Add that to White House Counsel Pat Cipollone trying to scapegot Mulvaney and he has a problem

There's a new detailed Quinnipiac poll:

Still split along party lines

While 40 percent of all registered voters approve of the job President Trump is doing, 54 percent disapprove.

While 50 percent think that the impeachment inquiry is a legitimate investigation, 43 percent think it is a political witch hunt. Nonetheless, 76 percent of American voters think that the Trump administration should fully cooperate with the impeachment inquiry, while 18 percent don't think so.

Nearly half of American voters, 49 percent, believe that President Trump held up military aid to Ukraine because he wanted the Ukrainian president to announce investigations that would benefit Trump politically, while 40 percent don't believe that.

Whilst on a CNN Poll, they show that those wanting trump impeached is the highest ever for a president at 50%.

The peak of support for the impeachment and removal of then-President Bill Clinton in 1998 was 29% in CNN polling. That's the highest that number ever went, despite the fact that the House Republican majority did vote to impeach late that year!
Ditto impeachment sentiment for the two presidents between Clinton and Trump.

In a 2006 CNN poll, 30% of the public wanted George W. Bush impeached and removed from office; in 2014, 33% said the same of Barack Obama. (Unlike Trump and Clinton, neither Bush nor Obama ever faced any sort of formal impeachment investigation or vote.)
What those historical numbers tell us is that for at least the last two decades, there is roughly 30% of the country that is ready to impeach a president (usually of the party to which they do not belong) at all times.

New York Times and Wall Street Journal are both reporting that trump knew about the whistleblower complaint before lifting the hold on $391m in aid to Ukraine.

https://us.cnn.com/2019/11/26/politics/trump-ukrai...

trump only released it when told he was in trouble... and even then John Eisenberg, the WH lawyer to whom the NSC staff who testified at the impeachment hearings reported their concerns, tried to prevent the whistleblower complaint from reaching congress.
