The Washington Post have a strong opinion post, quite rightly pointing out that "William Barr is unfit to be attorney general"

A report in the NY Times:
The House on Wednesday passed a $738 billion military policy bill that would authorize the creation of the Space Force championed by President Trump as the sixth branch of the military and secure paid parental leave for more than two million federal workers.

The 377-to-48 vote reflected broad bipartisan support for the compromise package, one of the nation’s most expensive military policy bills to date. It passed over the opposition of a bloc of progressive Democrats and libertarian-minded Republicans who objected to its steep price tag and its omission of provisions they had proposed to limit the president’s power on an array of military matters.

Hang on... Kushners leaking to NY Times again...

But it was Mr. Kushner who helped broker a deal to create the Space Force, a chief priority of the president’s, in exchange for the paid parental leave, a measure championed by his wife, Ivanka Trump, also a senior adviser to the president.

It was also Mr. Kushner who intervened on measures targeting Saudi Arabia that would have prohibited arms sales or military assistance to the Saudi-led intervention in Yemen.

Qatar of course helped bail out kushner

Having a president who’s exposed to blackmail from Russia, his ex-wives, his employees, Epstein’s estate, the parent company of the National Enquirer, business associates, the money from Saudi, UAE, Qatar, the election assistance from Israel etc...is less than ideal.

So when you read that Ukraine are reconsidering their position...especially as trump is being indicted and they hold all the information on that, you just add Ukraine to the many, many people and countries that trump is compromised by.

One of the people close to the Zelensky administration said the silence from White House—combined with Lavrov’s photo-friendly visit to Washington—sent “a terrible signal” and was “most unfortunate.” According to a read-out of Trump’s meeting with Lavrov, the president “urged Russia to resolve the conflict with Ukraine.” The Ukrainian official called the episode “frustrating.” Ukrainians say they view the coupling of Trump’s pre-Normandy silence and the administration’s decision to welcome Lavrov as a signal in an of itself—and not a good one.

Zelensky administration officials are now reconsidering their strategy on communication with and about the Trump administration, the official said. Thus far, Zelensky administration officials have stayed in line with the Trump administration’s narrative on the president's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani’s Ukraine activity and the focuses of the impeachment inquiry. But they say they have little to show for it, and may take a different public relations strategy in the future.

Just when you think the GOP couldn't possibly dredge up any more troglodytic morons to defend Trump, up pops Doug Collins. Wow.

The House and Senate are full of them. Falling over themselves to defend Trump and push false narratives.

This fking guy wakes up, and his first thought is to attack a 16 year old climate activist on Twitter because she beat him to Time person of the year. Rumour is that he phoned Time's office to complain about it but that is just a rumour.

That's the President, nothing more important to do I guess.

In other news, team Trump have photoshopped his head onto Greta Thuberg's body and used it as an advert to raise funds.

Was he even in the running? If so, what for?

Or did he just assume he was in the running and it was a mere formality?

Impeachment participant of the year?

It would be amazing to know what goes on in his tiny mind.

Some ‘highlights’ here from trump’s latest ego rally. Well worth a watch if you are able to physically endure it.

This is a person who is clearly unwell.

This is the Potus responding because a 16 year old got person of the year and he didn't.

Remember the manufactured outrage because Barron was mentioned in a poor joke in the impeachment inquiry...

Quietly this week, McConnell has confirmed as many circuit court judges this week as he did the entire last two years of Obama’s presidency.

From Aaron Rupar

Here's Mitch McConnell casually admitting his rationale for not allowing a hearing on Merrick Garland in 2016 was a lie

Rep. Eric Swalwell calls out Collins: "Ranking Member Collins, you can deny this as much as you want. People died in Ukraine at the hands of Russia. And Ukraine, since September of 2018 ... was counting on our support."

Schiff on Republicans: "I wonder how they're going to explain one day when their grandchild comes to them and says … 'please tell me what you did to stand up to that man'? What will their answer be? For all too many, it will be nothing. It will be nothing except shame."

The republicans tried to run it out so that the vote wouldn't be on TV. Nadler saw through that

NADLER suddenly recesses the hearing and reconvenes for 10AM to cast final votes. Collins erupts that he wasn’t consulted. Republicans are furious.

A little gamesmanship too. Dems are peeved that Republicans initially expressed that they wanted to be done early in the evening only to introduce a lengthy string of amendments that dragged debate past 11pm.

But mostly the delay is to ward off an all but certain accusation that Dems were burying their impeachment vote in the middle of the night.
Dems see the short-term pain of a process complaint from Collins as more palatable than long-term claims they were trying to hide the vote
