I tend to agree, I see this as just another of Cummings “I’m smarter than everyone else” plays to sneer at anyone other than him - I’m unconvinced he is anywhere near as clever as he thinks he is.
Isn’t that the modus operandi of a few Remainers in here who are still struggling to come to terms with the results of the vote that took place 3 years ago?
How on earth would you know that when you’ve only been here for a few days. rofl

Loving the irony!

Back to the point, however, I don’t think he is right.

He must think that, by delaying A50, we could have got the EU away from their process driven mantra of agreeing the separation agreement before leaving and then, and only then, discussing the permanent relationship.

Varifoukis warned that this is what they would do at the start. Indeed, A50 itself requires the separation agreement to be delivered with only minor reference to the future relationship.

On that basis, I have no clue what he thinks would have been achieved by delaying A50.
You hadn’t even heard of the guy an hour ago and now you’re picking his theories apart. Better tell Boris there’s a new kid on the block. Cameron blocked any planning for leave prior to the ref, while the EU stole a march. We simply weren’t prepared and it’s not really a point of argument, it’s one of those horrid fact things. We didn’t have to trigger when we did, I don’t like much about Cummings but in this he has a valid point.

Just an update to my personal situation- Chances are I will be made redundant along with 20 others as soon as October due to working mainly in the EU for a UK company.

Thanks guys.
Enjoy taking back control.
Enjoy WTO rules.
I’ll be looking for a job in a very poor jobs market. Specialist in a niche market.
Anyone want to explain this to my children? Will of the people, democratic decision? Balls to all of you.
I care about my family not your views on the supposed EU super state.
Thanks you have just made my life a fking sight tougher.

I didn’t say I had never heard of him, I said I didn’t know his views on the timing of triggering A50.

[quote]...which means you might miss out on a minor point scoring opportunity, which would be tragic.
See the irony yet? You come across as very angry.

Very sorry to hear that. Is the decision final or could it be postponed/reversed if we extend/remain?

What sector are you in?

Not nice to hear someone losing their job for any reason but I thought you were a brickie / house developer?

I’m just interested as I’ve recently shut my business down due to not wanting to deal with the general public any more and being cautious about doing a development with Brexit unresolved.

Worth reading up on Cummings. He wanted to reset politics, some sort of new world order, the EU referendum was his tool.

He doesn't believe this should have been the subject of a refferenndum, too binary. But had to take opportunity if he was going to split things open. I'm not sure he'll achieve anything the old guard will just reform.

One thing is quite clear, without him leave wouldn't have gone over the line.

Interesting clever bloke, pulling the strings behind the machine. And he's doing it again.

I don’t doubt he is clever, and dragged the sorry leave vote over the line. But is he just clever spin and no actual substance?

Interested if you have a link where he sets out what a successful leave would look like - if he has dared to write it down. I’ll have a google too.

Mortgage all paid off on your house? Not had a residential mortgage since I was 39.
What’s your job title and experience ? Just interested in your level of competence in construction and development management.
Last year I developed just one property but gained planning for 35 properties on some land I own with my family. Also turned over £400,000 contracting but you know I’m hopeless don’t you?
I must have been very lucky getting completion certificates and warranties on the 4 £500,000 houses I have developed in the last 4 years using my own specifications. Really lucky.
Happy to email you details.
Sat snug in my job seeing how Brexit will pan out.
You are really knowledgeable about me do I know you????
Were you really working in the EU in a specialist niche?

Good luck with next steps, what sector are you in ?

Somebody who doesn’t stand to lose anything from the situation they voted for will be along soon to cast an element of doubt.

As someone who voted for Brexit I am genuinely sorry for any redundancies that occur as a result. I was made redundant at the start of this year, nothing to do with Brexit, but I know what it’s like.

I hope you can clear up any confusion that Alfie’s question may cause. smile
