Having a son who's early 20's I'm quite shocked at the younger generation behaviour and attitude to living, it just seems everything is acceptable and the girls like to outperform the boys in every aspect. Is it the internet that's caused this?

Girls outperforming Boys is a result of shifting attitudes towards gender equality. On the whole, this is a good thing.

But there is an argument that in some areas it has gone too far resulting in the perceived feeling of emasculation amongst men.

The internet has accelerated this. I'm not so certain that it has facilitated it. By and large, every generation tends to be more liberally minded than the one before.

Could you add a meat on the bones here please, you have said “girls like to out perform boys in every aspect” but can you give some specific examples of what you mean by that?

I'd suspect the OP is referring to drinking, swearing and 'relationships'

The "Victorians" , middle/upper class ones, were arguably less liberal and more outwardly conformist than people of previous eras.

from your observations do the girls out perform the boys at the sex then? Don't you have any photos or videos you can share with us, purely to demonstrate what you mean of course, obviously in the nicest possible taste.........

Almost every generation for 100 years has looked to tear up the preconceptions of their elders. Make their own mark.

With the internet, this generation (Millennials - 19-39 - and now that the Generation Zs are coming of age, them too) appears to be even more fervent in this than previous. Knowledge is power.

Sex - pretty much do whatever you want, as long as it's not hurting any one. Women shouldn't be chastised for having lots of sex. Homosexual experiences are to be viewed as "living a full life" in many circles.

Drugs - again, within reason, do whatever you want. The war on drugs was a stupid idea. Everything should be legal, and taken in moderation.

Women's abilities - Social norms were only ever that way for the benefit of men. fk that noise. Women are let loose and generally men are starting to be left behind in many areas (particularly education, the workplace is still male-dominated). We menfolk better snap our asses in to gear to keep up.

Money - been dealt a bad hand by the previous generations; particularly on house prices vs wages. So, spend the money on living life instead. That's what it's for. You only live once, why save it for another day that may never come?

I cannot believe how often I can smell Cannabis when I am out and about these days. Not the sort of thing that was around 25 years ago, but the so strong the smell makes you feel sick stuff that is around now.

Twice in the last couple of weeks I have been driving around and smelt it, only to realise it is coming from the car in front it is that strong. If I take a walk down by the Thames on a warm evening I guarantee I will smell it two or three times.

I am talking about a middle class greater London suburb, not some inner city ghetto.

I’ve assumed it’s people vaping that flavour

But yes, we have a cut way footpath up the side of our house, classic spot for teenagers to smoke fags / joints, a few years ago it was unusual to smell it, now it’s a couple of times a week you smell it

Bisexuality is hugely unreported and it’s not just women. It’s great if more people are able to unashamedly explore their sexuality. It is hilarious you think it is outrageous, what is outrageous about it?

Money in the bank isn’t doing very much and hasn’t for the last decade, where is the incentive to save? Also credit is accessed across generations and is not the product of the young. Home ownership is seen as so out of reach as to be an unobtainable goal, again where is the incentive?

Drugs? The consumption of alcohol is decreasing, I would not be surprised if there has been a corresponding increase in other recreational drugs.

A perfect example. I now know that bisexuality is hugely unreported. I know that because I have read it in black and white, with my own eyes. It was written on the internet.
