Tabloids reporting that staff at Windsor have been told to prepare Frogmore for (just) Harry's arrival. So guessing he has some event in the UK to attend.

Liz is at Windsor so will no doubt have a word about US politics.
Actually, I wonder if the penny has dropped that spending more than half a year in the US in any three year period opens him to taxation on his world-wide income (including all that dosh that the PoW has chucked his way). And without Royal status to shield behind, I doubt that he qualifies for a diplomatic or sovereign exemption.

Granted, Harry himself was never in danger of troubling the All Souls Prize Fellowship Committee, but I'd guess if he's listening to them, his advisers have might clocked that one...
Rumour has it he’s been told he’s going to have to pay £11million pretty soon.

I expect he’d rather move somewhere else.
I guess it really depends on whether his income is actually income or a gift from pops to determine whether it’s taxable or not.

Not under US tax law, it doesn't.

Yes under US tax law it does.

That will come as welcome news to a relation of mine who seems to have been raped by the IRS exactly on this point.

The giver gets hit with federal gift tax (which I assume you’re referring to), not the recipient. There’s a $15k per person limit per year to stay under that threshold (however there is an ability for the giver to essentially use some of their IHT allowance to avoid gift tax to be paid). If you are given a gift over $15k by someone who is not a us person for tax purposes (e.g. by a family member who is not American or in the American tax system), no tax is payable.

I’ve just gone through this about 6 weeks ago as a US person for tax purposes being given a gift by someone outside the US that’s over $15k.

Obviously none of this applies if the money is deemed income by the IRS.

It's the disguised and not so disguised income angle.

It will be interesting to see how his lawyers and accountants are going to argue that the money from the POW is anything other than in connection with his (former) employment.

It will also be interesting to see how the money to do up Frogmore will be treated, although the plan now apparently is treat it as a loan.

In particular, I can't see the IRS falling for the gag that the Duchy of Cornwall is anything other than a state-owned piggy bank for the heir to the throne.

Harry and Meghan, like all wealthy people will have access to good tax advisers who will minimise income.

Yes, they will pay tax, but will be minimised. It's a non issue.

More than Trump? Or Greta?

Legend in her own mind I suspect...
Classic Narcissistic Personality Disorder

William was trying to do his brother a big favour when he advised him to make sure, but clearly it didn't strike home.

This is what I don't understand with her and the whole racist thing that is supposed to be against her, unless you didn't know she was of mixed parentage you would think she was "white", I'm a similar shade to her, see me in family photos with the wifes family and I do stand out as being darker that all of them, my sister is pale and ginger, I'm dark haired and darker skinned, however both our parents are white, we think there is something on my dads side; he, my grandad and one of my aunts is darker than your average English white person, when giving birth my aunt was asked by a midwife "when are you going back" (this was the late 70's), both of my dads parents were white. Just today an ex colleague that I'd not seen for some months said "Jesus Al, you been on holiday?" referring to my "tan", I haven't been on holiday!!

I've never experienced any form of racism in my life due to the way I look, so has she experienced racism because her mum is black, is it because she uses and talks about her black heritage so therefore people are racist towards her, or is it not racism at all and she's just not a nice person/hypocritical/preachy/woke etc so people openly criticise or take a dislike to her, so she uses the race card!!

I reckon as time goes by she'll embrace her POC side more, you'll see no straightened hair, more ethnic type clothing, maybe slightly darker skin/makeup to emphasise it. She very likely played down the POC aspect while she was a jobbing actress as it may have been seen as not so desirable as a white girl.

I only knew of her from Suits, I think it was on about season 7 or 8 when it broke she was dating Harry. During the melee in the press about her it came out that she was black. I actually went off to google her to see if it was the same actress... and yes it was. In all that time watching the series I never thought of her as being black or mixed parentage. I just thought she was a girl with dark hair and a bit of a tan.

Likewise though I did get confused with Meghan Trainor but when I googled Meghan Markle topless my day was made

I hadn't heard of her before Harry, but same. I think in newspeak that's "white-passing", which deducts victim points, naturally. hehe No True Scotsman PoC is 'white-passing' biggrin

I'd never heard of Suits, let alone Meghan Markle, but looking at the cast list I only recognise Dule Hill who was Charlie in The West Wing. And looking at Meghan's other body of work, I don't recognise most of that either. Am I white-passing? I don't know.
