No idea on the provenance of the info.

What would be the procedure for a faulty camera? I expect that it ranges from not bothered through same day repair depending on where it is, motorway vs high security etc.

Operation wise there could be a few good reasons why they fail. The issue here is what procedure they have in place for monitoring prisoners? That is to say camera fails, log it and report it, mitigate the issues a failed camera can bring up and get camera repaired. Or are there other issues endemic in the way the place is run maybe budget, people lax or people on the ball and chasing higher ups for solutions that never arrive? I am guessing.

Problem is who is overall in charge and his record.

Two cameras that malfunctioned outside the jail cell where financier Jeffrey Epstein died as he awaited trial on sex-trafficking charges have been sent to an FBI crime lab for examination, a law enforcement source told Reuters.

The two cameras were within view of the Manhattan jail cell where he was found dead on Aug. 10. A source earlier told Reuters two jail guards failed to follow a procedure overnight to make separate checks on all prisoners every 30 minutes.

Leaving Mandy aside for the moment the most interesting thing in that article is that Epstein had 16 different phone numbers for Prince Andrew.

That bloke needs to be real careful or some of the st is going to start to stick.

He had a lot of phone numbers for a lot of people. Along with his possible compromising video's and documents it rather looks like he enjoyed the company of powerful, influential people and used that to make money, in any ways possible.

As that article said - even Stephen Hawking went to his Island...

I think Prince Andrews problem is he continued the friendship even after Epstein came out of jail.
