Maybe it was incompetence, but for such crucial evidence you'd think they would export the video and check that it could be played on a separate system before allowing the original files to be overwritten?Jeffrey Epstein: Jail CCTV erased by 'technical errors' https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-5105320...

Good to know that if you're potentially complicit in crimes and the main guy dies (or murdered..) then you're seemingly forgotten about.

If it had just been overwritten then if it is stored on a HDD then surely this could have been recovered, especially by the FBI etc with the tools and experience they have at their disposal, so obviously a cover up.
Data on HDDs can usually be recovered if a file has merely been deleted, but generally not if the file has been deleted and then also overwritten.markjmd said:

Its still an obvious cover up regardless, all just too convenient.

Interesting goings on. Miami Herald that broke some of the story, the owners have gone bankrupt or something and the paper that Trump likes (and helps him) will be a stable mate in the new owners portfolio.
