So who'll be the new leader on Friday when Jo resigns?
Chuka better hope he gets in if he wants a go - is there anyone left anyway - they've all had a go ...
Not sure Chuka will get in anyway. Good riddance to that 'loyal MP' if he doesn't.
What makes you think Chuka? He ‘withdrew’ from the last leadership title fight, citing pressure, family, private life something something. Chuka better hope he gets in if he wants a go - is there anyone left anyway - they've all had a go ...

OK there is much less pressure as Lib Dem leader since no one expects you have to do anything except address very very small groups of people, but its a living I suppose.
I checked the tactical voting site last night for my area; Tactical Vote: none.
Turns out when the Tories got 35,000 votes at the last election and the next closest were Labour with 9000 there’s sod all point in voting for anyone.
Therefore I might as well vote LD to send a message about this whole Brexit bks.

Can't decide whether tactical voting is undemocratic, unprincipled, unscrupulous, underhand, or all of the above!
I think PistonHeads has a rather unique definition of "Tactical Voting"."Vote Boris to stop Corbyn and the Marxists" is fine.
"Vote anyone but the Tories to stop Boris" isn't fine.
Seems odd

When the public dislike you the more they see of you, it ain't good.
Agreed. They should have been a shoe-in vote for me but in the end I couldn't.
Bit unfair to blame it entirely on Jo Swinson but she simply didn't come across well at all.
If you can't make gains in this environment I think you have to take it on the chin that you've got it wrong.

Fair comment - but I can't honestly think of anything that the LibDems did to cause as much harm as that created by their own leader. I had assumed that the LibDems would improve quite significantly, if only due to the Remainers having little alternative. They should have been a shoe-in vote for me but in the end I couldn't.

And so did I and I got that one dead wrong. When I say not entirely Swinson I think she played a massive part.
But I also think Bazza called it right and a lot of people simply wouldn't risk Corbyn.
Reports Swinson is going to lose her seat to the SNP anyway.
