Quite, was it desperate when it was pointed out on a LD leaflet on here the other day? No, it was mocked, which is all that’s happening here.

I’ve made enough typos in my time to know how easy it is to not spot them

I would counter and say if your life has been an abject failure or you completely rely on the state and expect everyone else to pay for your existence, vote Labour wink

I’m guessing this is why no one on my social media (Facebook) has “I’m voting conservative” as their profile picture. It’s just not worth the hassle when this is the level of debate you’d get in response.

Given there are maybe four or five people on there with “I’m voting Labour” I’ll assume the rest are (perhaps reluctantly) voting Conservative or other.

I have been fascinated to see how many Marxists exist in the UK in modern times. I simply cannot comprehend it. Poor education? Lack of world knowledge? Zero grasp of economics? Totally baffling to me. I guess most people are ignorant, sadly.

Either that or Labour win, forcing a second referendum which will definitively decide it.
We know approx what Corbyn wants in a deal, basically remain but have no say in anything. So a second ref with remain or stupid remain is going decide nothing.
Corbyn doesn't want remain, hates the EU, he's towing the party line.

People like free stuff paid for by other people.

That's it.

Do they? Or do they like to consider they live in an equitable society.

Should any business exist if it cannot pay a wage on which a person can live reasonably without government intervention and subsidy? I’d argue No.

Why should a business be subsidised?

I agree, but you would have to accept higher unemployment.

Correct. Which is why when you are young and don't have much money you like that idea very much. Then as you get older and start earning a living, you are not so keen on state-sponsored theft.

Most of them aren't actually Marxists they just haven't the faintest idea of what Labour are planning to do when they get in. All they hear is "free" stuff paid for by those rich bast*rds.

If Labour do get in then those fools at least will be getting exactly what they deserve.

You can't get people to agree on what is equitable.

You can get a lot of people to agree on having free stuff paid for by other people.

oh, I don't know. Lots of big businesses get a massive taxpayer subsidy via tax credits. They seem to like that free stuff paid for by other people.

Indeed!, If wouldn't be so catastrophic for an already fragile economy, I kinda wish they did get in, just to show them, unfortunately Corbyns spending plans are just too absurd, there will be no recovery for 40 years at least.

Interesting, are you saying people don’t know what they are voting/voted for?

Some round here don’t like people saying stuff like that you know ;-)

This is the farce. Corbyn loathes the Eu and under any other circumstance would be voting to leave. Johnson is really the remainer but needed to take the leave stance to get his premiership. He’s a cunning chap.

The next year or so will be fun to watch. I think Farage may suffer a major blood pressure issue if Boris trade deal with the Eu goes the way I suspect. Assuming a Tory majority of course.

Grim weather forecast tomorrow. Rain just about everywhere most of the day. If I am not mistaken, this usually boosts the Tory rather than Labour vote. Any other meteorological predictions?

Subsidy has it's place at times. Each case is arguable:

1) Scrappage scheme post 2008 arguably kept many jobs through a downturn
2) Investing in national infrastructure (rail subsidy is at it's highest now IIRC)
3) Electric cars and charging points to kick start demand
4) Farming is a tricky one. Fundamentally do you want to make it more expensive for poor people to buy milk?

Thoughts?
