The damage that Brexit and the likes of Boris Johnson, Jeremy Corbyn, and Nigel Farage have done to UK political discourse ought to concern any person, right or left, who possesses any fair mindedness and cares about the national interest. But look at this place: those on the side which won in 2016 and which is likely to win in 2019 cannot stop themselves from turning everything into a partisan issue. Some of them cannot stop from playground gloating and shouts of "you lost, get over it". In these ways they are tracking the GOP in the USA. That is not a great path to be on.
I don’t usually bother posting on the NP&E forum due to the bickering that goes on, but I agree with what you said. For playground gloating of Leave, if it must be so described, add playground whining of Remain (likewise).
For the likes of Farage and Trump, thank failed left liberalism which then smears and slurs rather than learning that left liberals don't know what's best for other people and as a result might like to stop preaching in a condescending manner.
As to Boris Johnson PM, the thread title, he's not Farage or Trump regardless of what unsolicited comments from Farage or Trump may say about him
Which is exactly what he’s complaining about.

You don’t see anything wrong with the party that’s in government changing their Twitter is to make them look like a fact checking site?
I suppose you were happy with the conservatives dodgy editing of videos a few days ago too?
No, because that is NOT what happened.I suppose you were happy with the conservatives dodgy editing of videos a few days ago too?

It was a deliberate attempt to mislead. No matter how you try to cut it. The spin this day form Tory in the press is an excellent indicator that the Torys think they got caught.A funny Obviously made to parody Starmer

Cleverly and Raab and the lady interviewed on Politics (BBC) all tried to dumb it down (not seen them all myself, just those three), Raab was particular that no one gives a toss. This is despite spending on many adverts on the social media platforms. There is big money in this advertising and playing social media.
Cummings is up to his neck in it, see Cambridge Analytica and AiQ. He was not spending big wedges of cash for nice note paper. I wonder what other channels of help he has from the US.
If Corby did this I would be able to hear the blood vessels popping on PH from the North Pole.

And you neatly managed to miss the point where I agreed explicitly already.
I merely added some accuracy by indicating that it works both ways.
If left liberals don't change we'll get more Trumps and Bolsonaros.

In the US, it is Trump at all costs. In the UK, it is Brexit and/or Johnson at all costs. Nothing matters except (1) winning, by any means possible, and then (2) being bad winners. Orwell analogies tend to be derided, but they are not really so very inappropriate. Recall the explanation that O'Brien gives to Winston Smith of the reason why the Party does what it does.
Momentum, by the way, put purity of ideology above winning. Momentum identify as their main enemy not the right, but those on the left who do not agree with Momentum. Momentum are prepared even to ally with the right (by for example supporting Brexit) in order to defeat the centre left. They hate Blair far more than they hate Thatcher.

Yes. I set the usual and blindingly obvious, well signposted trap, and as usual one of the usual suspects walked straight into it The staunch leavers and/or Johnson supporters here claim to be well educated and well informed people who are not at all xenophobic, and I am prepared to accept that they are what they claim to be, but all or most of them appear incapable of stepping back from their obsessions and wondering aloud if the country might perhaps be in deep trouble, whichever side wins the current bust up.

Stopped after that, a disappointing level of xenophobia about people with a xenophobic thought process. Strange. In the US, it is Trump at all costs. It is also massively incorrect, my poor estimate is that most people realise we are split as a country and are in for a rough ride (whichever road we take) politically.
I add that none of this should surprise us. The British sometimes claim to have invented fair play, and to live by fair play. Take a look at British history, both domestic and international, and you will not see as much fair play as you might expect.
The US, as a daughter of the UK, can quote Larkin -
They **** you up, your mum and dad; they may not mean to, but they do. They give you all the faults they had, and add some new ones, just for you.
Apocrypha: Well intentioned US editor of Larkin replaces "They **** you up" with "They tuck you up..."

This is very true.Has anyone admitted to being fooled by it?
Another thing is people might think lets fact check this. It is a term I have been hearing a lot recently. It will be something they think of. Search twitter for fact check and get what immediately appears to be a validated site, what do they think? The comments can be close to the truth or way off, but it is validated, and that lends some authenticity.
