Tickets go on sale next weekend for Glastonbury 2020, who's in?

We've tried every year since 2011; first attempt and we got them and ever since, no luck until securing tickets for this year.

We are in Poland next weekend so hoping an IP address from mainland Europe helps us, we've also our daughter, her other half (if they get their arses into gear and register tonight) and a couple who went last year with us, trying too.

We are hoping to get tickets this year , 1st time for us and going for the 'holy grail' , a camper van pitch as well . (No way Mrs Toy is tenting )

As this is new to us any advice regarding best site or tips be much appreciated .

Will it be Macca and Ringo ? Fleetwood mac ? Greenday are touring and Evanescence (going to see them at the O2 smile ) or Queen with Adam Lambert (going to see them at the O2 also smile )

Good luck everyone ,

How to lose friends and alianate people lesson 1 smile Good luck everyone.

We had a very large group of nearly a hundred, obviously combined of groups of 6 trying to buy tickets for each other, with zero success. I'm calling conspiracy, someone with some IT trickery to ensure they got through to the website first. I know these loopholes get closed but there's no doubt you can still give yourself an edge. I'm not even talking autofill etc. You have to actually get through to the purchase page for that

A colleague tried yesterday for the first time ever and got tickets for him and his wife, a friend and her rather large group tried and got nothing; she has managed to get coach tickets for many years in a row.

I'm in Poland currently and will be trying on Sunday, from what I've heard there is a very good chance if you are abroad.

Nothing from my side on Thursday it was tough going. I've drafted in a few more people for tommorow now.
Thoughts on the 20seconds refresh thing? I had 1 pad on auto refresh that crashed and I never saw the grey screen again, another ipad and computer somewhere in the middle of auto and manual and my phone that was rapid fire refresh.

I got coach tickets on Thursday night for a group of five of us, rather bizarrely on a free WiFi connection in a local pub, had to type in all the bloody details on my iPhone hoping I didn’t make a mistake!

Sadly (and I know I’m guilty of this - if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em) the fact that so many people join groups and all try for them means that the website gets massively overloaded. They could find alternatives to this (a ballot system, for example) but still people would try to ‘cheat’ the system via multiple registrations etc.

Can any techies on here explain how millions of hits on a website like this at the same time are prioritised? Is it really just luck that you capture a page at the precise microsecond one becomes available?

The core site application will likely be accepting traffic from a number of load balancers on a first-come first-served basis. However there will also likely be an edge network caching traffic. The screenshots I’ve seen suggest it’s not terribly sophisticated (i.e. you get a basic error message when you can’t connect, rather than a branded / tailored message).

No joy here either, bit gutted but plenty of other festivals to try for. Consoling myself with that thought.
