I've been to busy to partake in the usual dose of UK politics twaddle recently, but watching the news tonight, seem people here and people there are talking of possible break-ups, yeah yeah, same ole same ole, been like that for a month. But still, if it does happen, who would you out a fiver on?

Yesterday I listened to a radio interview with some Scottish nats and an American or Canadian.
Cue the usual tripe from the nats about NI getting special treatment and the Scots getting dragged out of Europe against their will. Moaning and moaning about England, Westminster, Boris..... Then the North American asked the question of what the English get out of our union. It didn't get answered. I'm all for our union and it has been fair, with devolution. I've no axe to grind with any of the union nations or people but the deceitful nats can f
k right off.

k right off. The main reason why they are so noisy is because south of the border they have no representation and we see no Scottish TV.
Their support in Scotland is not as far or wide as their rattle would suggest. Their problem is minor parties splitting the vote and allowing in these racist anti-English gobstes. As for that bloater standing up in HoC telling us all we are wrong.... Their failure to grasp the stupidity of insisting on independence from UK but eager to be dominated by EU tells you all you need to know about the SNP.
Together with their having to re-join the EU as a very minor independent country with no capital to give them and having the euro foisted on them is somehow ignored. They'll find much shallower pockets in Brussels. An absolute tragedy for the people.

This. If there is to be another referendum we should get to vote on whether we want to keep on subsidising them. Why should they alone make the decision?

They don't want to be ruled by London, but want to be ruled by Brussels (if they get back in). Jeanette Krankie is clinically insane.
If Boris gets his vote through... I think it's the end of an independent Scotland in the short term.
They need subsidies. Leave the union within the EU they can probably look to the EU as it will be easier for them to stay in the EU. Leave the Union outside of the EU I suspect it will be harder for them to get in & who pays the bills then??

Is NI viable as a go alone country, does the republic need or want a troublesome Ulster in a united Ireland ?If you think Scotland is subsidised, Christ, take a look at the figures for NI.
A humungous 50% of NI workers are public sector employees.
Middle class catholics do rather well out of being in the UK thank you very much, but don't
broadcast it too much, they still want to be seen as the persecuted minority.
