Physicist Dr Ralph Alexander said:

Empirical data refutes claims of more extreme weather events
Alexander also noted that 2020 saw a number of socio-economic studies attempting to link extreme weather to global warming, including CRED-UNDRR and IFRC; predictably the conclusions of these papers were contradicted by their own data. One of the above author teams claimed that annual climate disasters have increased since 2000 when the data shows a decrease of 11%.over that timescale with 2005 and 2007 'outperforming' 2019 & 2020.

Meanwhile on TV. the ramping of similar climate voodoo continues.

This searching for patterns (where none necessarily exist) is fun.
Indeed, similar for confident statements that floods aren't increasing based on thin evidence.
Yes, no-one should be making confident statements based on thin evidence... climate science has a lot to answer for.

flooding and drought haven't increased.
IPCC 2018 said:
There is limited to medium evidence available to assess climate-driven observed changes in the magnitude and frequency of floods at regional scales because the available instrumental records of floods at gauge stations are limited in space and time, and because of confounding effects of changes in land use and engineering. Furthermore, there is low agreement in this evidence, and thus overall low confidence at the global scale regarding even the sign of these changes.

Listened to the Lunchtime R4 News programme which majored on the Biden speech and the ramifications of it.

Their CC reporter was effusive about China setting targets for CO2 cuts due in 2050.

He then went on to say that China has built a huge industry making the batteries, solar panels, windturbines and the like for the green future.

He failed to mention what powered the factories and the the homes of the workers making these worthy green products.

Coal. Whats going to fuel the manufacture of all the new Chinese green components and machinery in the future.

You guessed it Coal.

He also failed to mention the 500 new coal plants China has announced it will be building.

Its almost as if either the Chinese hate their kids and the planet, or they know something we don't and are working to a plan we are not privy to.

Some actual climate politics happening today with Biden summit.

Climate change: Biden summit to push for immediate action https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-568...

“President Biden has made climate change a key focus in the early days of his administration. . . .

As well as re-joining the Paris climate agreement on his first day in office, he announced early on that he would gather around 40 world leaders for a global summit on Earth Day - 22 April. . . .

It's expected that the US will unveil an updated carbon pledge that will see its emissions nearly halved by 2030. . . “

US committing economic suicide. That'll be Biden's legacy...

Just like the EU.
I think Biden more immediate issue will be coping with his disappointment when emissions won’t have halved by 9pm...........

They're just trying to help...that's all. I mean it's not like they'll ignore some little environmental issues and soon be the richest and most powerful country on earth...no,no.

Met Office and Microsoft to build climate supercomputer

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-56840169

The Met Office is working with Microsoft to build a weather forecasting supercomputer in the UK.
They say it will provide more accurate weather forecasting and a better understanding of climate change.
The UK government said in February 2020 it would invest £1.2bn in the project....................continues

Who's going to tell them no matter how powerful your calculator is, you can't model a chaotic system.
Why don’t you tell them? It would be far more useful than continually posting it here surely.

Can you post up any reply you get?

Why would you expect replies from the Met Office, that's simply following its historical appetitte for more money for an even more eye wateringly expensive computer that'll give it an even better ability to predict last month's weather, and Microsoft, using this as a smoke screen to deflect attention away from Bill Gates's efforts to reduce the human population of the world, whilst increasing his personal net worth by a healthy chunk?

You do ask some dumb questions.

Speaking of CO2 reduction, here's the result of 12 months worth of travel restrictions and the associated drop in anthropogenic emissions...

No, this is the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere, not emissions.

Emissions as collated by the IEA are here:
https://www.iea.org/data-and-statistics/charts/ann...

Ah, there's the answer, then.

Fewer emissions create higher concentrations.

So, we need to ramp up emissions, pretty damn' quick.

shout...Someone tell Boris and Joe, before they create a climate emergency.

Am I doing this right?

China is the world leader in wind power generation, with the largest installed capacity of any nation[1] and continued rapid growth in new wind facilities.[2] With its large land mass and long coastline, China has exceptional wind power resources:[3] it is estimated China has about 2,380 gigawatts (GW) of exploitable capacity on land and 200GW on the sea.[4] Wind power remained China’s third-largest source of electricity at the end of 2020, accounting for 12.8% of total power generation capacity.[5]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_power_in_China

China is the world's largest market for both photovoltaics and solar thermal energy. Since 2013 China has been the world's leading installer of solar photovoltaics (PV). In 2015, China became the world's largest producer of photovoltaic power, narrowly surpassing Germany.[1][2][3] In 2017 China was the first country to pass 100 GW of cumulative installed PV capacity.[4][5] By the end of 2020, China had more than 250 GW of installed solar capacity.[6][7] As of May 2018, China held the record for largest operational solar project in its 1.5GW project at Tengger.[8] In late 2020, China turned on its largest solar farm with a capacity of 2.2 GW in Qinghai province.[9][10] The contribution to the total electric energy production remains modest[11] as the average capacity factor of solar power plants is relatively low at 17% on average. Of the 6,412 TWh electricity produced in China in 2017,[12] 118.2 TWh was generated by solar power, equivalent to 1.84% of total electricity production.[12] In 2019, China generated 234 TWh of electricity from solar power.[13] At the 2020 Climate Ambition Summit, China announced that its goal is to reach 1,200 GW of combined solar and wind capacity by 2030.[14]

Quote from Telegraph

“China has also pledged to reach peak emissions by 2030.

Xi Jinping announces no new targets today but says its crackdown on coal will kick into gear in 2026-2030. “

So whilst the rest of the world is pledging to reduce emissions, the largest offender will keep on increasing them until 2030 when it may make a token effort to get to net zero by 2060

Are we been taken for fools here?

I’m familiar with your climate change conspiracy (a global deception to spread marxism isn’t it?) but what’s the Bill Gates one about again?

Is he into global neo marxism too? Or is the population cull some other thing?

The met office will reply to rob I'm sure. Like all these things though, you guys always seem to be keen to ask each other why nobody realises what you do but reluctant to ever ask the people involved. Seems odd really. I guess you prefer to get your facts from each other and loony websites.

Not an 'existential' threat: Intelligence agencies challenge Biden's climate change alarmism

"The DNI threat assessment report for 2020 states that climate change, combined with environmental degradation, does not pose a clear, direct security threat to the U.S."

How dare they? Because they have more than a little sense as well as intelligence.

The U.K. isn’t doing much different.

From the article,

“The UK is among the countries that have been keen to show their ambition ahead of the meeting. Earlier in the week, the prime minister announced a "world-leading" target for the UK to cut emissions by 78% on 1990 levels by 2035. “
Yup!

Wait till the bill arrives. Wait till unemployment ramps, travel craters, and we continue towards our dystopian future.
