Rev counter on 1.4 Scirocco TSI DSG

Hi,

I’m sure this is a a silly question but I’ve got a 2010 TSI with the DSG box. When I put it into S the revs go high 6/7/8000 way past the red line. Is this normal and will this damage the engine/gearbox. Or is the DSG able to handle this?

8000? You sure? Don’t think even a remap on one of them increases the redline to that high..

My bad not 8, just taken a look at the video it’s 6/7.5 I’ve had clutch pack changed recently just making sure it’s not an issue

Go on youtube and find cars that have the same engine, there are lots of 0 -100Km/h videos
