Random thread . I love quiz shows, especially ones that are rapid fire questions. So have been watching loads of The Chase on Sky.

Am of the opinion that Bradley seems like a really nice guy. Just seems a funny and genuinely good egg.

Anyone met him and can confirm or disprove?

Never met him, but this thread prompted me to hunt out that 'Fanny Chmelar' clip on Youtube.

Watching Walsh trying (and failing) to keep it together never fails to crack me up laugh.

He always comes across well.

His Cash Trapped show is poor though. It's too slow paced and clumsy. Bring back The Chase.

Met him very briefly and a long time ago in, of all places, the Falkland Islands when he was just starting out and doing his stint as a Forces entertainer.
Came across as very genuine, grounded and the sort of bloke you could really rely on.
I’ve met a few celebs in similar circumstances including a big fan of Pizza Express ;-)
Bradley Walsh stands out as the only one I don’t recall as being an arse.
As an aside, Faye Tozer was also ok, offering to “get my tits out if you cheer loud enough”.
Saturday Superstore it most definitely wasn’t although it would seem no end of cheering was sufficient.

He is often at the White Horse in Shenley when filming in Borehamwood Studios. Always happy to chat to people, very friendly, relaxed and not out to impress anybody. A charming fellow.

He seems to get a lot of stick but he’s a good host and a decent straight actor too. I like him.

A mate worked on Law & Order UK, said he’s a really good guy.
He’s very quick witted on the chase, I don’t think it’d work with a different presenter after so long, but tried the new show and it’s not great.
My wife tells me I should apply to go on the chase, but the the chances of winning are slim and your fate lies in the hands of the team.

They've run Cash Trapped before and it didn't work. It just doesn't flow and the programme feels disjointed.

With the winner of each day losing their money, if they don't escape, it doesn't seem they can build up a significant amount of cash.

5 v. 1 at the end to escape means that one person needs to be much smarter than the rest to beat them all over just 45 seconds.

Bradley is trying hard to push this show. He keeps overephasising how positive or exciting something was. It feels a bit desperate and he doesn't need to do this on The Chase.

Isn't cash trapped the one he invented though?

But he seems like a great person.

I’m currently sitting on the sofa watching an old Chase with my mum; she has dementia and it’s her favourite programme (closely followed by Tipping Point...); she loves Bradley Walsh so I am glad he’s a nice guy in real life (he certainly comes across that way). Thank god for Sky and repeats; I can keep her entertained for hours!

She might enjoy the various blooper shows which are on that video streaming site.

I was watching the chase and doing ok. My daughter said I should go on. Problem is I sometimes have a really bad round. Same on Mastermind. I count my scores and regularly clock a 6-8 k cash builder. But occasionally get a right proper crap round. If I got one of those I'd be buggered.

Also dont want to be in a team of dicks. One prat the other day took a minus 1k offer and got back, diluting the pot massively.

Cool interesting stuff in there. Funny how the 3 people with the highest cash build all lost out in the head to head.

Reminds me of a story I heard. A woman used to call in on her elderly mum who had dementia, and was concerned that she was getting beyond living alone. She couldn't have her full time so thought it best to sort out some kind of home for her to go into. So she called out the GP to speak to her mum and see if he agreed she could no longer be left alone. So the GP sits down with her and:

GP: Ok Vera, I'm going to ask you some questions, just to see how your memory is these days
V: Righto my dear
GP: What day is it?
V: Wednesday....er no, Thursday.....err, no it is wednesday. (It was Monday)
GP: The month?
V: July, it's July. (it wasn't July)
GP: The name of the Queen?
V:Victoria.....no, no, not Victoria, Margaret...no, not Margaret...her sister....err....you know the one....thingy.
GP: Ok Vera, your daughter is concerned about you living alone and thinks you should consider living with other people of your age. A facility for the elderly. How you got any thoughts on the type of place you'd like, here or near your daughter. Or somewhere else, or anything else you'd like?
V: I don't really mind, but I'd like a place that puts on quizzes.
