The Big Ben bong thing has really exposed the "feelings" at play here has it not?

It's a fitting epitaph for the whole brexit idea.

- waste of money
- pointless, no benefit to anyone's lives or the nation (in fact probably detrimental - imagine any Europeans reading your sewer idea)
- massively important to some for irrational reasons & pursued doggedly with an almost religious fervour despite any cogent arguments / facts
- government reluctantly goes along with it sort of to keep the followers happy whilst wondering "How the fck are we going to keep doing things sensibly, and deal with this nonsense at the same time?"
Nice to see rejoiners coming to terms with brexit...

Now over 200k raised. Well done to those that have. If you haven't donated yet you're not a true Brexiter.

Wow!
Works out at just over a penny per leave vote, a truly stand out effort.

The paranoid defeatism of the leavers who claim that the UK was held back, oppressed and in some kind of brow-beaten depression tells us far more about them than it tells us about the UK. I wonder what they'll blame next once the EU bogeyman is no longer a viable scapegoat for their own sense of grievance and inadequacy?
Dont worry, blame on the EU may last for a long time. Just look at how long certain people consider Mrs Thatcher.
Good point
Not really when you consider the "types" who still go on about Maggie in a negative light.
Working class people from ex mining communities?
Labour shut down as many coal mines too, which is just as well, could you imagine the stink the save the planet and its climate brigade would be having now with any party that supported keeping the pits open, and promoting the burning of coal?

The prevailing of democracy over the non democratic? I would say its quite a big deal, So would people in those counties that don't have democracy, and have to fight and even die for the privelege!.

It is really quite simple, the people have a vote over some matter or other, they then count the votes up, and the side that gets the most votes carries the day.

Drop in the ocean compared to a lot of things. Ferries for example.

Realistically though, each day this gets closer to exit day, how much harder does the task of installing what is required to do it safely?

Boom box and fog horn leg horn on the air horn AKA MCFarage. Cheaper as well. All that is raised for this now, few hundred for the bits and thousands to charity.

That brexit fella with the big speaker horn thing finished with it?
