Agreed great post. Shall we just close this thread then?

This thread is weird I agree

Post bad news = doombringer
Post good news = ignored
Want to talk percentages = pages and pages

O and the people that like to pop in and say they aren't bothered. I might start doing that on every Porsche thread biggrin

Some people might be worrying about this a little much but I quite like hearing how Phil is saving up for a Gurkha Terradyne for the apocalypse. If he used V6's Maths he'd be there in days!
I love popping in and out of this thread. Feels a little naughty and I'm sure it presses some posters buttons which makes it even more of a giggle.... I hope I'm not a troll... scratchchin

For the 517th time it’s not my maths it’s the raw figures being released. Without political or some other random intervention to magical it to 1%.
Which method did you use to get to the 517?

I hear they have something against bodybuilders, film directors, painters and scientists too.
average PH poster.

Higher death rates for those company directors who pay cash for everything, has paid off their mortgage, pulls triggers on steel rolex and who’s wife also drives a Boxster unconfirmed.
The Chinese have been disinfecting cash, so you may be onto something there!

Any further updates on #DavidAbel today?

Apparently, the couples positive Covid-19 diagnosis was a miscommunication due to these damn foreigners not speaking English properly.

CCP expel Wall Street journalists for writing nasty things about China.

They’re focusing on article entitled “China, sick man if Asia ?”

Both still testing positive.

The Guardian in turn said:
Abel posted on Facebook on Tuesday night that he and his wife, Sally, had both tested positive, but then cast doubt on his diagnosis after being told by Japanese doctors that the couple were to be taken off the ship and placed in a hostel “for four or five days” rather than being sent to hospital.

But on Wednesday afternoon, Abel said they had confirmed their positive status after talking to an English-speaking doctor, and were preparing to be taken off the ship, which has been moored in Yokohama, near Tokyo, since 3 February.

I’m no doctor but he looks pretty ok for someone suffering from a “Killer Virus”

Give it time, I'm sure V6 is watching intently as his % calculations could be grossly affected dependant upon the outcome!

I suspect there will be some relief at Princess Cruises that this outbreak didn't occur on the Crown Princess.

And this is exactly the reason why some people on here are concerned.

Come on then. Let's work out the probability of 4 members of the same family dying from this virus.

Why don't you work it out and then you can tell us.

Assuming they all catch it, its 0.03% currently. So small.

I guess they were unlucky then. Unless Prizam is suggesting foul play....

Foul play is more likely. But I wasn't suggesting it. I'm also not ashamed to admit that statistical maths is not my strong point. Having said that, my maths using the WHO figures put it at......

Yeah, I got the same result as V6.

Now factor in that we are only hearing about this case because they are a famous family and the stats become even smaller.

So... either the virus is a little more pungent than we are being told, or they are being bumped off.

I’m not sure the CCP has or is doing anything strange.

They are pretty much doing what they normally do.

The economy has been slowing for a while. Everyone knows this even though CCP tries to spin a perfect picture.

Although it’s a dictatorship, the CCP needs a certain level of Co-operation from the public in order to govern. Yes, they have words biggest army and a huge control apparatus but they can’t control all 1.4 Billion people if they all get upset. There are daily localised incidents up and down the country which get dealt with. They don’t make the news but the locals have ways of sharing stuff.

The main control system is basically “stick with us and your prosperity will continue to improve year on year”

The CCP have pretty much delivered on this up to now but it’s slowing to dangerous Levels.

An outbreak of a mega virus could taint China and Chinese goods. Their first reaction was to try and keep it quiet then when it got out, they threw the kitchen sink at at to stop it in its tracks.

They are continuing now with the positive spin. Strong government takes strong action to to protect its people. We delivered again.

It’s exactly what you would expect them to do.

Dissatisfaction had been spreading among the population for a while. The CCP has acted to try fix some of the perceived problems like Pollution, healthcare, deaths on the roads and corruption.

Money in peoples pockets trumps all of the above.
