I've just watched some of the debacle on the news.
ha! Bloomberg is a no-hoper. He's a billionaire, and that's all he's got, will that be all he needs in the USA?...we shall see.

Saw some nice debates from Bernie.

He certainly looked under prepared for the incoming that was inevitable. But he's not on the ballot in NV or SC so it's a good thing from his perspective to get it all out now. And he's going to spend hundreds of millions on Super Tuesday so I wouldn't write him off yet.

He's certainly good at playing people like a banjo.

Trump managing to position himself as a man of the people is probably the greatest swindle of all time.

I am fascinated anyone could find trump to be ‘positive’. Granted, he’ll repeatedly attempt to take credit for anything and everything he thinks he can use to make himself look good, but his bile is relentless and hugely negative. He just oozes hatred, his attacks on his betters (everyone else) are never-ending.

Be nice! Keep that on the Trump thread! biggrin

Now, in keeping with this thread's line; I still contend that Bloomberg is the best chance the Dems have to beat Trump. Biden perhaps too but no one is talking about him, however, don't count him out. Super Tuesday,(3 March) is made up of Southern states which will lean toward a Biden/Bloomberg type as opposed to a Sanders/Warren one. We are still in the phase of a civil war for the soul of the Dem party. March 4th will see the fog clear a bit.

I hope you're right. I would love to see Bloomberg get through the nomination process - his biggest hurdle. If he makes it through that he has a fighting chance.

He does. However, The things he accomplished in New York were done through what is perceived as more GOP-like policies. He is very Capitalist-market centric (not strange being from the "World's Financial Capital" and all that). This could possibly cause the Sanders/Warren crowds and the AOC children to acquire the red ass and not lend their support, as they cannot abide by anything smelling of Capitalism.

I'll say this as well; If Bernie looks in anyway close to winning the nomination, and the DNC screws him again like in 2016, things will burn.

Has Sanders pledged not to run as an independent if he doesn't get the DNC nomination?

If he runs as an independent, he'd surely cripple any establishment DNC candidates chances. It's not as if he's got any real commitment to the party and at his age, there won't be another chance.

It's difficult to think of a better way of guaranteeing another 4 years of Trump.

I don't understand why people on this forum are so certain that if the DNC nominate Sanders, then Trump wins the election.

I understand that this is a very right wing forum but if you type "can bernie sanders beat trump" into google, it doesn't come back with a Trump win being a foregone conclusion.

For example:

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/latest_po...

If the DNC have an angry Bernie running as an independent while they put up Bloomberg or Biden to take on Trump, then you'd assume that the vote on the left would be split giving a simple victory to Trump.
