Sturgeon getting an easy ride from the media on this one, imagine a Tory MSP doing the same,
Blackford would be in danger of imploding with indignation every day, demanding resignations,
and arrests by Police [ are ste ] Scotland.

BoJo, Ardern, Trump etc. are all Premier League and Sturgeon is Championship - one tier down.
Is she baws, she's Vauxhall Conference. Mid table.

And it's not been called that for years, which might be analogous in terms of where her career is going.

A large section of the UK media and almost all the Scottish media are hostile to Boris. Though his handling of the Covid crisis has been shocking. Sturgeon meantime can do no wrong.

7 months into this thing and she still does daily briefings. Surely the time taken for preparing for and delivering these briefing could be better spent either dealing with the crisis rather than talking about it or making her working day a couple of hours shorter.

Like it or not she is the leader of the govt and it is no good to anyone if she gets burnt out by doing un-needed daily briefings and being unable to delegate.

Though given the shockers she has had from Mgt Covid, Derek MacKay etc etc I can undertand her motives for not delegating.

I havn't really been paying much attention being a rural hermit, but just now it took me 15 mins of determined googling to figure out the rules for mixed dining in my local board.... There should be a website with a single search box, put in your post code, it tells you the rules. Seems easy enough to do?
But it would change so often it would be an administrative nightmare. And the admin staff are already quite busy making documents relating to the Salmond/Sturgeon scandal disappear. And in any case she wants you paying attention to her daily propaganda bulletin, not fannying about on a website. So basically no.

Whilst on a surgery elective in North Wales, a chippy offered to accept my Scottish pound notes at a 90p exchange rate.

Obviously he was told where to shove his fish & chips...
But this is what will will happen on Day 1 of Independence - you do know that don't you?

When the Bank of England decides that it will no longer accept deposits of Scottish currency then Traders will either refuse to accept the currency or start to depreciate its worth - that's what happens - it's really very simple.

Evil Boris seems to manage it https://www.gov.uk/find-coronavirus-local-restrict...

Of course it would be far too easy to feed into a UK wide postcode finder so it just says there may be restrictions & links to the Scottish Government website.

My post was a response to the daft SNP bint video.

Then, and now, Scotland is still part of the UK, you do know that don't you? Completely different to a post-independence scenario.

I disagree McGee, only because there will be no independence, I honestly believe there would be massive civil unrest.

Coming soon though from Murrell Towers - Prohibition - Can you imagine the fun? smilesmilesmile

I spotted a similar pic, I would love to post it, but I am sure it would mean an instant ban smile

We need it simpler.
In a format we can understand.
Cause “stay alert” is really hard.

Sturgeon & Leitch seem to be tee-heeing over this on Twitter tonight. This really is a fking joke to them as they’re bankrupting businesses and putting people out of work

Nippy’s feed, but retweeted by the puppet.

Best not tell her the original Oor Wullie (who seems to feature in all these) was drawn by a filthy, Covid-ridden Englishman.

Sturgeon claims Scotland almost eliminated the virus over the summer but was reinfected from elsewhere. Border controls an important consideration.

Perhaps border controls would have stopped Margeret Covid spreading it to England?
She could have closed all international travel into and out of Scotland.
She could have imposed a travel ban within Scotland.

She did neither.

Yes, the party that plays the Scottish history card in it's politics is cancelling a Scottish tradition going back hundreds of years. No Halloween and a digital christmas.

As Spiked put it

"This is what Covid hysteria now means: the prospect of the first year without a Christmas since the days of Oliver Cromwell. "

https://www.spiked-online.com/2020/10/23/will-scot...

What's the difference between Oliver Cromwell and Niola Sturgeon.? One was a ruthless Puritan leader who trampled over all opposition in the belief that anyone who opposed them was evil, the other was an English general and statesman

Good article by Gillian Bowditch in the Sunday Times. "Digital Christmas is right up there with non alcoholic chapagne."

Mentions Edinburgh Univ research which found that a month of telling people to stay home drops the R rate by 3%
Banning mass gatherings or closing schools drops it by 15%

Why? "Lockdown is not working because lots of people will simply not thole it"

The SNP answer? Stricter and more complicated rules which are impossible to police. If people aren't listening it won't matter if you change what you say.

There was an informal cease fire in the trenches in 1914 but we can't see our family because there is a virus that kills the very old? Mostly back in the spring?

I sense a politically driven “saving” of Christmas (and probably New Year) incoming, regardless of the effect (or not) on the Covid policy. Remember how quickly blended learning in schools was abandoned when NI then England announced they weren’t having it?

More likely to be we've had to cancel Christmas because of those English s coming here for staycations.

If we had UK border controls and fiscal levers this would all be over by 10th December.
