I'm not convinced her career would have recovered.
We live in the modern age, she would forever have been held up as an example of a female domestic abuser
Lets not forget a former boyfriend insinuated she had done similar things (maybe not physical but emotional).
Remember that National Treasure Cheryl Cole/Tweedy/Fernandez-Versini has a conviction for an ABH assault and has managed to rehabilitate herself to the extent that most people have forgotten about it.We live in the modern age, she would forever have been held up as an example of a female domestic abuser

Still the Flack bandwagon rolls on with more people offering to be "her voice"
her career would have likely recovered, examples include, Cheryl as mentioned, Ant Mcpartland (Drink driving crashed into a car with a child inside), Richard Bacon, blue peter career over due to cocaine now works in the US, Johnny Vaughn did time for drug dealing as did Tim Allen, Paris Hilton went to jail (i forget what for). Lots of celebs do bad things and its all forgotten if they are popular.

I think it’s fair to say it was likely one of those situations where had she not quit of her own accord, she would have been sacked/suspended. Quitting generally looks better than being sacked, unless you have some moral high ground to occupy which she clearly didn’t.
Honestly though, for the purposes of this discussion, does it really matter much?

She quit. The producers openly said she was welcome back.

Am not so convinced, I reckon she would have been back on primetime telly in no time at all, after a brief stint in prison, she could have paid her showbiz penance by doing a documentary/ campaign about wimmens rights in prison combined with some therapy on self reflection carried out on social media. We live in the modern age, she would forever have been held up as an example of a female domestic abuser
Lets not forget a former boyfriend insinuated she had done similar things (maybe not physical but emotional).
Then back to normal and her past glossed over.

... add in Gemma Collins, barred from being a Company Director for three years this week for her Ltd Co being liquidated owing over £70K in VAT, at a time where she was making huge drawings from it. Basically stealing from the public purse. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-8021...
Yet she goes completely unpunished (that ban will have zero effect) because she claims she "doesn't understand money"
On your telly all the time showing off her "talent"

Melanie Sykes got arrested and cautioned in 2013 for assaulting her then husband and she still gets tv work.
And Father Ted kept his job after kicking Bishop Brennan up the arse.Oh, hang on, I think I'm getting confused between real and imaginary now.

I haven't read through the whole thread but my thoughts (based on my current understanding of the situation) are:
Shame she felt the need to kill herself. That's never nice.
However I don't get the huge outpouring of mournful messages for her.
I don't recall her ever doing anything of any intrinsic value (Hardly like the Attenborough of her generation) , and from what I can tell, had quite a temper and assaulted her partner?
I also think newspapers and media outlets need to be more careful of publishing stories which can cause damage to people until such time that those people are formally sentenced after being found guilty - too much false information is spread. Once the facts are out, then they can be reported on. This is not just the case here but globally, how many false rape claims have been brought against "famous" people , subsequently proven guilty or charges dropped, but their career is in tatters?
I can't help but feeling that had her BF have assault her, then killed hmself, no-one would really care. Which is a sad thing to think about.
Also, the british public are strange people, between her, various other TV personalities being abusive or otherwise stupid (Ant and his Drink driving for example) we seem to forgive too much on certain things, but persecute some others for "lesser" reasons.

Couple of points on this thread, people saying how self centred the released tweet was-well surely commuting suicide is the ultimate expression of that? It’s a symptom of the problems she was having.
Also people seem to be under the impression she was sacked for her alleged offences-I thought she quit of her own vocation?
