You’re the most prolific poster here by far, Jim. Last night you were posting from your bed using your phone. I don't think you can dislike it too much!
Actually I do sometimes but not on this thread. That was catchup. As stated, I am prodded to respond to every link posted but then accused of prolific posting; yes, it is nuts.Electro1980 said:

You are so kind; a gentle sort of soul.
This deserves quoting for the textbook use of irony in a chivalrous fashion - lost on so many in here it seems...And by a colonial cousin too
Bravo Sir.
Bravo.
Only now?
The House has voted 410-4 to pass legislation to designate lynching as a federal hate crime. Wonder if that will sit on Moscow Mich's huge pile of bills from the house not submitted to the Senate?
4 voted against it
Independent
Rep. Justin Amash (Mich.)
and 3 Republicans:
Reps. Thomas Massie (Ky.),
Ted Yoho (Fla.) and

So, choose a Trump-like candidate because he has a "D" instead of an "R" in front of his name, thus compromising the just-mentioned principles?
That said, I believe that is just what the DNC will do. The DNC will confer with CNN, MSNBC, the NYT, and Washington Post to decide how to push Bloomberg to the front. Not sure if it will work but watch for them to try.

Did you know that researchers at Princeton and NYU found that Facebook users 65 and over posted seven times as many articles from fake news websites, compared to adults under 29.

Yes, whilst the Democrat opposition focus on identity politics and eat each other, live on camera, in-front of a national audience.
Good. So now we know that it’s not that his supporters don’t know what he does but that they think the rule of law is not important. Dismantling the checks and balances in the system, destroying trust in the government, attacking the judiciary and undermining the judicial process. Using the office to make money and build your business, protect your friends and destroy anyone who does not agree. All good as long as his core voters are happy. All because the other side care about minorities and think, maybe, that sexual assault might be a bad thing.Ok. At least we know what we are dealing with now.

trump said yesterday that his administration has the situation under control and is "ready to adapt" if the virus spreads.
"Because of all we've done, the risk to the American people remains very low," Trump said. "We're ready to adapt and ready to do whatever we have to as the disease spreads, if it spreads.
"We're very, very ready for this," Trump said, adding that only 15 people had contracted the virus in the U.S. and that all were expected to recover.
Vice President Mike Pence says in leading the White House response to the coronavirus, he will be “bringing together” all the members of the coronavirus task force and will provide President Trump with “the best options for action.”
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trum...
This comes after the Center for Disease Control and Prevention official had warned Americans of "significant disruption" coming because of the virus.
https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/america...
trump also claimed a vaccine was very close, who was then followed on the podium by NIH official Anthony Fauci who said a coronavirus vaccine will likely take 12 to 18 months: "That means...the answer to containing is public health measures. We can't rely on a vaccine over the next several months to a year."

Remember trump has cut the budget significantly, sacked the man in charge...
And pence doesn't believe in science. His response to a HIV outbreak comes to the front, although he probably believed it was Gods will to wipe out gays
"The H.I.V. outbreak forced Mr. Pence to balance strong beliefs against ground-level reality: an epidemic that was growing more dire by the day...more than two months after the outbreak was detected, Mr. Pence said he was going to go home and pray on it"

This after the U.S. health authorities said they’ve identified the first case of coronavirus that doesn’t have known ties to an existing outbreak, a worrying signal that the virus is circulating in the U.S. despite reassurances from the Trump administration that it’s contained.
The hospital where the patient is being treated in California described one of the more serious cases of infection seen so far in the U.S., according a report in a local newspaper, with the patient arriving after being intubated and put on a ventilator.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the patient doesn’t appear to have traveled to China or been exposed to another known case of the coronavirus.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-02-27...
83 people in Nassau County, New York are being monitored for possible Coronavirus exposure after visiting China.

trump sacked the head of the intelligence agencys, put his own unqualified lackey in charge.
Remember Grenell was involved in Dmytro Firtash fight against extradition to the US from Vienna for bribery. Firtash is the person who wired Lev Parnas’ wife the that million dollars, is involved with trumps personal lawyer Giuliani, is an unregistered foreign agent (Flynn, Gates and Mannafort were convicted for this).
Now Assanges legal team are claiming they have recordings and screenshots of Grenell’s involvement in Assanges case, saying that Grenell was acting on Trump’s orders.
Representatives for Assange’s defense team say they expect to introduce recordings and screenshots of communications of a close Grenell associate, including a secondhand claim that Grenell was acting on the president’s orders.
At the heart of the Assange team’s argument is an ABC News report from last April alleging that, while serving as Trump’s ambassador to Germany, Grenell told Assange’s Ecuadorean hosts that the U.S. government would not pursue the death penalty for Assange if Ecuador allowed British officials to enter its embassy in London and arrest him.
Assange’s legal team will claim that Grenell’s role was more extensive than previously known, and that it corrupted the extradition process early on. The suggestion will be that the U.S. was so desperate to get Assange in its custody that American officials, via Grenell, agreed in advance to take a particular sentence off the table before even allowing a trial and sentencing to play out.
The WikiLeaks founder’s attorneys are also expected to present evidence that they believe shows Trump explicitly tasked Grenell with making the offer, thereby politicizing the process. One of Assange’s lawyers, Edward Fitzgerald, hinted at this argument in his opening statement on Monday, when he said that Assange’s prosecution was “not motivated by genuine concerns for criminal justice but politics.”

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange is fighting extradition to the U.S. on charges of espionage and computer hacking. Politico’s National Security Correspondent Natasha Bertrand joins Ayman Mohyeldin on her reporting that Assange’s attorneys are arguing that President Trump’s new acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell interfered in Assange’s case on the president’s behalf.
https://www.msnbc.com/ali-velshi/watch/wikileaks-f...
Edit: DNI chief of staff Viraj Mirani and DNI principal executive Andrew Hallman were both told to leave their positions immediately despite offering to stay on board and help with Grenell’s transition.

Director of National Intelligence Maguire "learned about his firing from reporters reaching out for comment before publication, and had to call the national security adviser to confirm that he’d been replaced by Grenell."

The Trump administration will pay for the coronavirus response in part by cutting funds from other health programs, including one that pays for heating and cooling assistance for the poor.
Of the $136 million the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) plans to transfer from other health programs to bolster the coronavirus response, $37 million will come from the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, according to a notice sent to Congress Tuesday night by the agency and obtained by The Hill.
HHS will make several other transfers, including $63 million from the National Institutes of Health and $4.9 million from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, which funds mental health and substance abuse treatment and prevention.
The Aging and Disability Services Programs will lose $4.2 million.
HHS does not need congressional approval to transfer the funds.

Another republican stepping down and not running in the next election
Rep. Ralph Abraham (R-La.) announced Wednesday he will not run for a fourth term in Congress, opening a safe Republican seat in the northeast corner of Louisiana.

Would have been a LOT easier not to slash the CDC staff & budget in the first place! No money ever comes back from the military though, I wonder whyOf the $136 million the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) plans to transfer from other health programs to bolster the coronavirus response, $37 million will come from the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, according to a notice sent to Congress Tuesday night by the agency and obtained by The Hill.
